The narrator is horrible! She puts seconds between different words and her voices for the characters are laughable please re-record with someone new so you don’t ruin your chances of being a high rated book

No matter what you do in life it takes a lot of grit and fight, and this book applies to all of that. Very well written and even better read by Stu. Highly recommend listening to this!

This is great information and a history. The narrator pronounces many things incorrect and is so stale. It is a fantastic history that we should all know more about, however, this reader needs to be a storyteller and we will listen. Amazing writing, poor execution.

Good characters, yet rambling-Great Narrater

I had high hopes for this title-- as an ONLY FROM AUDIBLE-- edition I considered they might know what they are doing. This book is trying to be the count of monte cristo and swiss family robinson. But (If you can believe it) --the Author never really gives a good physical description of the main character. I kept listening and made up my own view of him as the character does go on several great adventures and has good intention. I did find him really walking in circles and needing a bit more gravitas or perhaps a hair color. The performance by Ralf Lister is v good and I will be listening to the next book simply because his reading is so very easy to hear and stellar.

The story has many interesting characters but the author never lets us really like any of them. The ending is very schmaltzy and silly but the beginning is very promising. Everything just sort of peters out.
Thanks to Mr. Hanks for his wonderful voice.

This book has some value however the HORRIBLE narration was so saccharin and condescending that I felt sorry for anyone who for any reason had to listen to this book.
It was absolutely ruined by the person who read it. Yuck! I must go wash my hands.

I have listened to the entire series-- this is a good continuation EXCEPT FOR THE VOICES!
How did the narrator detract from the book?
They were not the same people that have been in the last 7 (count them 1-2-3-4-5-6-7!!)
