When he’s unable to heal from the trauma of loss, Akani begins to question his and his father’s role as a parent and, in doing so, awakens to the patterns between them. In trying to avoid being like his father as a husband and as a parent, did he inadvertently become exactly the man he wished not to be? And what secrets lie untold? As he grieves, he wonders whether he was ill-advised to keep secrets that may unwittingly hurt his family.

Relationships of Parent and Child
Revisado: 02-16-25
A beautiful story. The eternal theme of a parent's choices that children are unaware of. Generational pain is felt but not explained, only unwittingly repeatedly.

The sad truth of war
Revisado: 03-27-24
The research in this book is extensive, shedding light on the ugliness of war. The story and memories of the conflict illustrate that winning or losing a war doesn't lead to better lives for all. Instead, the narrative shows how everyone seems to have lost something. Promoting understanding, communication, and strong communities can help societies thrive. Unfortunately, the young often bear the brunt of this burden, being sacrificed by indifferent and uncommitted forces, and torn apart by those deeply committed to their beliefs.

Historia
ADHD is one of the most common neurological disorders in the United States—yet a staggering 75 percent of girls and women remain undiagnosed. Due to the gender gap in medical research, which does not account for symptoms manifesting differently in women—leading to increased problems with anxiety, depression, working memory, sleep, energy, and concentration—many ADHD women are left to navigate a society that fails to understand their struggles and gifts.

Revisado: 04-05-23
This subject was enjoyable because of the lecturer's knowledge, clarity, and speaking ability. The Author used easy-to-understand examples of financial principles.
I thought the book would put me to sleep, but I enjoyed listening so much that I repeatedly extended the sleep timer.

Some lines should never be crossed. Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town. While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

I'm happy with the 3rd book in this series. I haven't finished yet but keep hoping the audio quality improves. The audio and studio recordings have a cast that distorts the excellent quality of most Audible presentations. I think the narration rates a 5.
