Historia
After the way my first love took off for the ends of the earth, the last thing I want is to see him on billboards and bookstore bestseller shelves. Now my boss just handed me the project that could make my career. All I have to do is partner up with the man, the myth, the legend - adventurer Hunter Armstrong. That's easier said than done, because when we reconnect, I learn Hunter has his own agenda on this project. And it's not to find a treasure in art and antiques. It's me. But what we discover shocks both of us, and we have no choice but to follow the clues....

couldn't finish audio version
Revisado: 06-12-21
just couldn't finish. Andi Arndt was great as always, the story was good, Scott Eastwood was way too start and stop. lots of weird pausing mid sentence and sometimes mid phrase. really unfortunate because otherwise he has a very pleasant voice, he just needs more practice. I like the story though so I plan to get the Kindle version.

Historia
If anyone asks, I knew better than to flash my boobs for Mardi Gras beads. I still don't know why I did it. Maybe it was the dare from my two best friends. Maybe it was the guys on the balcony saying they'd throw Fireball shots with the beads. Or maybe it was the quiet guy in the corner of that same balcony with piercing gray eyes, wavy dark hair, and a smile so tempting I wanted to climb up there and lick it off his face. Maybe it was because I never thought I'd see them again. Not that it matters. Not today. Because the hotel I manage was finally bought.

sexual harassment is not flirting
Revisado: 08-12-20
DNF, couldn't get past all the sexual harassment. one or two inappropriate comments I can handle, but overt sexual harassment from your boss who is a virtual stranger is not cute harmless flirting. It would be different if the main characters had any time to get to know one another prior to inappropriate banter. My husband and guy friends can say things around me that someone I've just met cannot. Being 'hot' doesn't give anyone free license to harass another human being. And harassment doesn't cause "nervous butterflies" it causes anxiety.

Historia
When I was young and impulsive (okay, it was only five years ago, alright?) I let my boyfriend take, let's just say...compromising pictures of me. (Shut up. It made sense at the time.) Surprise! The sleazy back-stabbing jerk posted them on a website and, well, you can guess what happened. I’m a meme. Now I get tagged on social media whenever anyone shares them. You try getting a thousand notifications a day, all of them pictures of your tatas. It’s time for revenge. But how do you get embarrassingly intimate pictures of your jerkface ex who double-crossed you five years ago?

The ending was good but the middle was tough
Revisado: 08-06-20
at least with this series Julia's writing style tends to drag out the middle, but this one in particular bothered me because the point she chose to drag out was the h being a terrible human being. The h's 'struggle' drug on for so long that I really started to hate her and nearly didnt finish the book. If the ending couple of chapters had happened sooner it wouldn't have been so bad. The ending redeemed the book overall, but barely.

Historia
The only thing about me that’s a size zero is the filter on my mouth. I’ve got a big personality, a big rack, and a big number on the scale. And I’m perfectly fine with that. But when some random guy suggests I might not be eating alone if I’d ordered a salad instead of a hamburger I’m shocked silent, which is a feat, trust me. That brings us to one sexy fireman named Frankie Hartigan. He’s hot. He’s funny. And he’s just apologized for being late for our “date” then glared at the fat-shaming jerk.

heroine is difficult to like
Revisado: 05-25-20
heroine is completely weak while she tells herself and everyone around her tells her what a "strong woman" she is. none of her actions or thoughts support that, but the main problem with the story is that the hero took any responsibility for the black moment when it was 100% the heroine's nerosis. even after the heroine admitted to herself that it was her own fault, she got away with a simple apology during the hero's grand gesture. a good romance novel allows for the female character to take responsibility for their actions, not doing so just comes off as man-hating drivel.

Historia
William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he's now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn't the clean-cut, all-American good guy everyone imagines him to be. He's got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever. Josey Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she's finally getting her shi...uh, act together. She's set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there's one teeny tiny road bump. Her living arrangements are coming to an abrupt end, leaving Josey homeless and in need of a job.

story is great voice actors could be better
Revisado: 05-07-20
The female voice actor talk too fast and varied between reading the story like she's reading out of the dictionary in a monotone and exaggerated emotion that didn't match the tone of the story. The male actor was overall okay, but it seemed like he would speak haltingly at random. Story appropriate emotion from both was inconsistent.
