Historia
Two years after the colonies declare their independence, the American and British armies fight a seemingly endless series of bloody battles in the east. But on the Tennessee frontier, the war is fought by far fewer rules of engagement. In the wilderness, those who strike silent and swift win the day, every tree or rocky hill might hide an enemy waiting with bullet and blade, and a painless death is a rare gift.

Historia
Spur Award finalist Cameron Judd has won wide acclaim for bringing both action and authenticity to his novels set in the American frontier. In The Long Hunt, Crawford Fain is hired to find Deborah Bledsoe, who's rumored to still be alive years after being abducted by Cherokee raiders. Trouble is, Crawford is getting up in years, and his tracking ain't what it used to be. But with the help of his son Titus, Crawford just might have a fighting chance of making it across the vast, untamed wilderness and bringing Deborah home safely.

Five Stars!!!
Revisado: 03-15-25
The story is fascinating from the beginning until the very end. Incredible action and characters (just like all the Eighteenth century settlers who really did live back then). You feel a sense of their destiny from the first page to the last. Even better for me because I have many ancestors, both red and white, living there then. If you like reading about the building of America, buy this book and clear the day. Wonderful book!! Please write more!

Historia
This lush novel, set in 1766 England and America, evokes an era ripe with riot and revolution, from the teeming streets of London to the sprawling grounds of a Virginia plantation. Mack McAsh burns with the desire to escape his life of slavery in Scottish coal mines while Lizzie Hallim is desperate to shed a life of sheltered subjugation to her spineless husband. United in America, their only chance for freedom lies beyond the Western frontier - if they're brave enough to take it.

Historia
In the summer of 1985, a brilliant young British DNA scientist Helena Greenwood is found murdered in her front garden in a quiet suburb in California. The police believe they know the killer’s identity but there’s no evidence against him, and the only thing linking him to the crime is the fact he’d been charged with sexually assaulting Helena just a few months previously.

Very tedious
Revisado: 02-22-24
I think this writer is talented and thorough, but this book just went on and on and on. I stuck it out to the end, because reasonable doubt is so vital to our criminal justice system, and as a lawyer, I was curious. But I am not sure why we needed so much sweat and toil reexamining this guilty verdict, since the murderer literally confessed to the murder on the witness stand, and his motive was ironclad. This was not the usual suspicious case where the perp was railroaded into a confession by overzealous law enforcement, then later recanted. This was the opposite - he went from a no contest prior plea to a prior crime, right into to a voluntary confession to murder in open court. And the final conversations she recounts with this degenerate (who has changed his mind yet again and claims innocence, undoubtedly to keep her coming back long after the courts have denied all his appeals) are proof positive of his criminal mind and sociopathy. Sorry, there is zero doubt here.
All this having been said, the information on the vagaries of DNA labs, which I didn’t know, was very interesting and thought-provoking. I hope this author will write something else on an entirely new topic, because she has talent.

Historia
The FBI were relentless. In the 1980s they would start to slowly win the battle against organised crime; Anthony was right at the heart of this. Despite his best attempts to conceal illegal dealings the authorities found a way to put Anthony behind bars. However, it wouldn’t end up being the maximum sentence, as Anthony and his legal team pulled a few aces out of their sleeves. Finally, Anthony reveals how he got ‘made’ and why he chose to go against omertà - the code of silence - and do this podcast series. Absolutely riveting story told by Anthony Raimundi in his own compelling voice. The narrator was also terrific, and a great counterpoint. I listened to this podcast start to finish without a break. So many fascinating and completely believable revelations, with no excuses made. I’m glad Anthony quit the Mob after prison, before getting killed. Now please just be safe and be an upright citizen! And thanks for a totally great story!

Historia
When world-class biblical scholar Bart Ehrman first began to study the texts of the Bible in their original languages he was startled to discover the multitude of mistakes and intentional alterations that had been made by earlier translators. In Misquoting Jesus, Ehrman tells the story behind the mistakes and changes that ancient scribes made to the New Testament and shows the great impact they had upon the Bible we use today.

This is the most pedantic book I’ve ever read. I think this author is just out of gas. His early books were so interesting, but as time goes on, so does he.
