violence against children

i wanted to like this book but I just didn't. The violence against children wasn't an enjoyable escape for me. Spoiler, along with beating children, there is also torture, rape and murder, if you find this disturbing I would avoid this book.

My first ever book review..

First, everyone should read this book. People who left a bad review just need to read it again so they can better absorb and understand the information. Yes, science is complicated and it takes time to learn but why the hell not? We are humans, we should know as much as we can about how we are designed to make the best out of our time while we're here... this will only help us live better more fulfilling lives and I certainly want that for myself. I'm a Pilates instructor who has been specializing in stability or longevity training for several years and I can personally back up the value of how important this type of exercise is for our current and future bodies. I am elated every time one of my clients tells me how Pilates has given them back their physical freedom and has helped to restore their optimism for the future. That being said, I feel like I have personally gone from 2.0 to 3.0 in my overall understanding of how to approach wellness because of people like Peter Attia. I am also a regular listener of his podcast The Drive and have found myself having regular amazing discussions with my husband and family after each episode. I so appreciate how he approaches optimum health from more than just one angle, focussing on genetics, thoughtful exercise, nutrition, stress management, acknowledgement of our poor habits, proactively working with our doctors, and learning for ourselves the science of humanity. His bravery and transparency in the chapter on mental health was truly inspiring and so important to help people understand that it's okay to seek help for something that is unfortunately still considered unnecessary or invalid by so many. I'm beyond grateful for this amazing gift he has provided us with and I encourage everyone to read this book.
