Too much fill
Revisado: 07-04-23
While there are two simultaneous story's and they both have interest, the book is ruined by too much infill like entertaining the twins and putting glasses back in their case that the cohesion of the story is almost an afterthought. there are also instance of victims jumping to conclusions that there counterparts on the other side of the country have reached with a lot more information. This is definitely one of Counters worst books. I used to enjoy her books, but the last two have been stinkers.

True to his roots taking on cartels and the CIA in Peru and elsewhere. The ending let you use your imagination somewhat and a few loose ends, but overall a great book.

Who needs believable when everything winds up ok. Not just a western but the hero got the girl and almost rode off into the sunset. Garrett Cole is almost believable and he can shoot riding a horse. Throw in some drugs, a Mexican cartel, a tough old horse trainer and you got yourself a great and fun read.

Not his best. One too many conversations with instructor, description of a pistol picked up in a gunfight, government acronyms, flashbacks, thoughts in his head, and the list goes on. I have loved Jack Carr and James Reece, but maybe he should get married and call it the end.

But
Revisado: 08-15-22
Typical Berry book delving into a real event in history with only a slight deviation from the truth to make his story believable. The big “but” is the 15 hour book that should only take 10 hours to tell the story. For example, it took way to long for the arch-bishop to die which was a forgone conclusion long before it happened. Love Berry’s stories, But the sensationalism is way overdone.

Historia
Ariel Price wakes up in Lisbon, alone. Her husband is gone—no warning, no note, not answering his phone. Something is wrong. She starts with hotel security, then the police, then the American embassy, at each confronting questions she can’t fully answer: What exactly is John doing in Lisbon? Why would he drag her along on his business trip? Who would want to harm him? And why does Ariel know so little about her new—much younger—husband?

What If
Revisado: 07-17-22
Maybe a book club might like to disseminate all the possible outcomes of a decision, I found it redundant, superfluous, and totally unnecessary-almost like a filler drug and food companies put in their products. Ultimately, the last 20% actually showed a plot, but too late to save the story(only reason I gave it two stars instead of one). The main character is week, indecisive, and very frustrating to say the least. It was a real pain to get thru it.

Historia
Nell Young’s whole life and greatest passion is cartography. Her father, Dr. Daniel Young, is a legend in the field, and Nell’s personal hero. But she hasn't seen or spoken to him ever since he cruelly fired her and destroyed her reputation after an argument over a cheap old gas station highway map. But when Dr. Young is found dead in his office at the New York Public Library, with the very same seemingly worthless map hidden in his desk, Nell can’t resist investigating. To her surprise, she soon discovers that the map is incredibly valuable, and also exceedingly rare.

Soap Drama
Revisado: 06-22-22
Decent story. Too much drama. Mostly predictable with a wishy/washy main character who couldn’t make up her mind much less make a timely decision. Too much unnecessary (and unexplained) deaths.

A bit verbose
Revisado: 12-12-17
Enjoyable Dan Brown tome with tons of research and many exotic locations, many of which I never knew existed, and some of which I have seen for myself. That being said, I found the story being almost plausable, especially the AI part where you just gotta love Winston. All in all, it was very, very enjoyable.
