Not the best book I've ever read but it's far from the worst. Its enjoyable, fun and fast paced. The story is enjoyable enough to anticipate the next installment but not so great that I will lay awake wondering about what happens next.

Would you ever listen to anything by Stephanie Hudson again?

Its not fair that I have to rate her story in stars. I didn't get a chance to listen to it. I really liked the concept of her story and still might get it in print, unfortunately the narrator is so bad its left a bad taste in my mouth for any of her other books. I am willing to try another story so long as it's not narrated by Rebecca Rainsford.

absolutely NOT. Her voice is so monotone its embarrassing that they picked her for this story.
I had high hopes because of this strong statement......"Warning: This audiobook not only has sexual content but is amazingly addictive, with its dark mystery, haunting horror, seductive twists and one sexy dark lord that has the listener drooling every time the name Draven is heard".... and was crushed to find it was bullshit.
I stopped listening when the main male character started speaking... he sounds like an ethnic goat who sucked helium and tried to speak. Doesn't sound like an alpha, more like a sissy la la.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not in my opinion. I couldn't even finish it because the narration was SO BAD!

don't waste your credit

I am actually looking up a way to get my credit back. Terrible book with no plot or character development...men who are WAY too f-ing dominant and a woman who doesn't fight back. simply put, not a very good book.

So bad, I stopped listening half way through.

some spoilers ahead. I REALLY wanted to like this book. I thought it would be worth a credit.... I was wrong. I can get over the "magically keeping her trapped" because every story needs something like that but... the main guy... Drakar... he's just a shovanisitc, egotistical, passive aggressive and manipulative prick... *spoiler alert* once he sabotaged her birth control, I said to myself "thats it, that's the last f-ing staw* and stopped listening. I don't like men who think they are the best or think they are "master of all ", just because they have a penis, I don't like it in real life and other certainly don't like them in books.

This book is not worth listening to... even the narration was bad.

wonderful book, thrilling performance. highly recommended. though she may be physically weaker than her vamp companions B is every bit as stubborn and whitty. loved the story and can't wait to find out what happens next.

whiny female lead who has no backbone. a male lead who... even though he's the lead, I'm not sure why he was even in the book. I really hoped there would be some awesome sex to at least make this book worth the money but alas, I'm as disappointed in this book as I was with my high school boyfriend.

Sarah J. Maas is a fantastic author. I love these books and love her other book, A Court of Thorns and Roses and can't wait until the rest of both series come out.

Elizabeth Evens voice is rich and so..... diverse! each character voice is distinctly different and most importantly consistent! It's always very easy to know which character is talking.

I highly recommend these and all her books to anyone looking to get lost in a world of magic, adventure, and a world of impossible things that are so detailed you'd think it should all be possible already.
