Kingdom of War: Kingdom Journals, Book 4 by Tricia Copeland
4 out of 5 stars
Tricia Copeland is one of my favorite authors. I have read many books of hers and thus I was delighted to pick up this little gem. This is the fourth installment in the Kingdom Journals series and a fabulous addition to the set. We meet up with Hunter who is the lead of a long awaited trinity. Those who are going to restore the order. As his story progresses, I am reminded of Hercules and the requirement of the 12 labors, I find that these are similar to Hunter and his trials that he must complete. Hunter is a complex and often frustrating character as he is constantly at battle with himself and his growing power. He is struggling to control what he thinks is not his, and to not turn into the father whom he hates. The other two of the trinity are fantastic characters to Hunter and compliment him very well. The conversation, banter and story progression makes this for an completely easy read or listen. Lovers of Paranormal/Romance/Young Adult/Fantasy will love this book. 4 out of 5 stars.

Fake Fiancé: A Second Chance Office Romance Audio Book by Amy McKinley
5 out of 5 Stars
I loved this story. While short and sweet, it was absolutely well pieced together and the story moved smoothly. It did not feel rushed and each chapter rolled into the other without feeling lost in the story as if having missing important information.
The chemistry between Stone and Adeline is quick and fantastic. It burns hot and quick and I love the banter and quick wit that Adeline has.
This book is for lovers of YA, and Romance. This is a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

Historia
She’s hunting an assassin. A powerful chieftain's acquaintance could be to her advantage. If she can outwit his dark secret and survive his blade.... Etain thought her dad’s stories of the Alamir as fairy tales, anecdotes about supernatural humans created to pacify the wild imaginings of a child. She never considered them an education much less preparation for her destiny. Until a red-eyed assassin murders her family.

Interesting Story, a great start to a good series
Revisado: 09-12-20
4 Stars
Alamir, Blood of Kaos is the first Book is this new series and it is a great start, Etain is a very powerful woman who came into her power in a bloody and messy way. She is constantly trying to decide who she is able to trust and who is out to get her. While Miller does an impressive job of weaving a tale full of descriptive action scenes and well-developed characters, the strongest point of this story is the supporting characters such as Spirit and Inferno. These characters give color and depth of the story that would otherwise be two dimensional.
Miller is an amazing author who impresses me with her ability to take characters from pages into reality. I am excited for book two.
A personal note on the narrator. As a nurse in a past life, I cannot stand when a character nurse is portrayed as less than, snotty, stuck up or uneducated. While unintentional, this is how I perceived the narration on one particular passage in this book. It only happened once, but it stuck with me throughout the book.

Punched with lust from the moment he sees her again, Luke is shocked when he realizes that little Karlie Jo isn't so little anymore. When she tempts him with a proposition he just can't refuse, he's happy to oblige - temporarily.

Luke: The McKades of Texas by Kimberly Lewis
4 out of 5 Stars
This book is sassy. I love friends to lovers books, but I love it even more when one is so deeply invested in the outcome of their forever.
Karlie Kyle loves Luke McKade, has for years. But all Luke sees is his mother’s best friend’s daughter. Determined to change how he sees her, Karlie returns to her hometown, to Luke family ranch to be specific, to do an internship after college. Luke is gob smacked at how just not so little Karlie is any more.
Convincing Luke to be her summer fling isn’t as hard as Karlie thought, but convincing him to be her forever….well that is going to take nothing less than a miracle.
This is a dual POV book. The flipping viewpoints allows us to see both perspectives of the story from both dynamics. Karlie is fierce and independent and knows exactly what she wants and what she will do to get it. Luke is a typical alpha, southern male who is struggling with changing his commitment phobia ways to obtain his happily ever after.
This is easily a 4 out of 5 stars!

Romance Galore
Revisado: 09-27-13
Would you listen to The Many Sins of Lord Cameron again? Why?
JA is a fantastic author. I love how she brings her stories to life again and again. Even though these are historical stories, we can still relate to them on a human/emotional level. We can feel the pain and sorrow, the hurt and the love. This is a book that will remain on my bookshelf to be reread many, many times.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the struggle between the two main characters. The pull they felt towards each other and finally how the heroine stood up to the Queen. Best ever!
Have you listened to any of Angela Dawe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have said this in my other reviews about Angela Dawe, but she does a very good Scottish Accent. I have been to Scotland and it drives me nuts to hear fake accents. She does a very, very good job.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I loved the part where the heroine stood up to the Queen. In the opinion of a redhead, it was a great way to stick it to the woman.

What's a nice girl like Miss Juliet Shelby doing at a place like Lord Deveril's ballroom? With her shy demeanor, she's a total stranger to the dance floor and a source of mockery for the ton. So imagine her surprise when Deveril gallantly comes to her defense - and offers to teach her to dance! Juliet can hardly believe the most handsome bachelor in London would notice her, until he takes her in his arms and sets her heart ablaze. Lord Alec Deveril has never felt such a spark of attraction for an unmarried lady before. Unlike the "fashionable" ladies he's accustomed to, Juliet possesses a generous spirit, a fiery intelligence, and a secret.

If you could sum up How to Romance a Rake in three words, what would they be?
Heart strings tugged
What other book might you compare How to Romance a Rake to and why?
I would compare this book to the Highland Pleasure Series. Similar strong heroine types, but the stories make them each their own.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
the performance, I loved the attraction between the two characters, I did not like how slow the story got started.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Not an extreme reaction to this book, but a very good fall night read.

Fantastic Listen and Read
Revisado: 09-27-13
Would you listen to Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage again? Why?
I would listen to this book over and over again. This has the suspense, the mystery, and the tug at your heart strings that all good historical romances need in order to be a great story!
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the way JA incorporated the back story. I am a person who has to understand why a character is the why they are, the little "news story clips" keep us informed of the past troubles in a way that is time sensitive is incredibly well done.
Which character – as performed by Angela Dawe – was your favorite?
My favorite character was Mac. I have traveled to Scotland and all of the fake Scottish accents drive me crazy. Angela Dawe gave enough burr into the character to make it believable that he was a Scottish gent with an English education.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book made me laugh, they found themselves in some of the strangest personal situations.
