Fun, light,and well written
Revisado: 03-21-24
This is not my usual type of book that I choose, I tend to go for the more darker murder mysteries. It was so refreshing to listen and even laugh through this book. The characters were intriguing and
Amelia was not ditzy. The Jane Austin references were greatly woven into the story which was nice.

Love this series
Revisado: 01-16-24
Archer doesn’t disappoint on this book. With three different investigations to keep track of it keeps you in tune to the story. I loved the ending with Willy. That old curmudgeon has a heart after all. His hardened exterior comes down for a moment. I loveWilly’s character. He always gives me a chuckle in every story in some way or another. Keep them coming and will keep reading or listening.

Great spin off
Revisado: 09-11-23
I am so glad you are incorporating some of the old characters in the telling of the backstory. Willie is back! She was one of my favorite characters in the glass and Steele series. I miss her and Letty’s banter. I hope to fine out what had become of Letty(I know she was old, but maybe?) This series has me hooked as well. Gabe is as handsome as his dad and as tolerable. Cyclops is living his dream, and Duke the only one to have move back to America. Sylvia is great and at first I thought she might have some “detection” magic. Daisy reminds me a bit of Willie, but certainly not as wild. Oh and thanks for giving Hope her comeuppance!Give this series a whirl. They are a fun, lighthearted mysteries.

I am so glad I happened upon this series. They are entertaining, narration is excellent, and good mysteries to boot. I am so glad not to have been born a woman in this era. To think that just kissing someone you are not betrothed to would cause such as scandal. Never mind the unthinkable I am so glad that the repressed sexual tension could finally be quelled. I like that the series has some magic sprinkled throughout the plot lines. Keep them coming I can’t wait to read the next book.

Historia
During a houseboat vacation on the remote Lake of the Woods, a violent gale sweeps through unexpectedly, stranding Cork and his daughter, Jenny, on a devastated island where the wind has ushered in a force far darker and more deadly than any storm. Amid the wreckage, Cork and Jenny discover the body of a teenage girl. She wasn't killed by the storm, however; she'd been bound and tortured before she died. Nearby, underneath a tangle of branches, they also find a baby boy, hungry and dehydrated, but still very much alive.

Great story with interesting historical features
Revisado: 06-09-23
Living in the New England you are flooded with rich history of our nation. I love those tidbits in this book. Abby is whinny sometimes and acts like a petulant teenager. Aww you didn’t tell me you were rich, get out, really? It’s great she wants to be her own woman, which is admirable, but everyone can use a leg up once in a while. Overall great book and on to book 3. Please let Abby not grate on my nerves.

Gripping storylines and great character development. Although Jackson is a cantankerous, slippery old goat, His mind is sharp, I feel he has some good in him deep down. He protects his Joes! Lamb is my favorite character and is funny in a crude sort of way.
Gerard Doyle is an amazing narrator. I am always pleased to see his name in the narration line. Kudos to him.
