Historia
His name was Feliks. He came to London to commit a murder that would change history. A master manipulator, he had many weapons at his command, but against him were ranged the whole of the English police, a brilliant and powerful lord, and the young Winston Churchill himself. These odds would have stopped any man in the world - except the man from St. Petersburg.

Not much of an espionage book, more of a slow-moving romance with social overtones.

Historia
On a beautiful summer day, crowds lined up outside a theater witness a sudden act of extreme road rage: a tap on a fender triggers a nearly homicidal attack. Jackson Brodie, ex-cop, ex-private detective, new millionaire, is among the bystanders. The event thrusts Jackson into the orbit of the wife of an unscrupulous real estate tycoon, a washed-up comedian, a successful crime novelist, a mysterious Russian woman, and a female police detective. Each of them hiding a secret, each looking for love or money or redemption or escape, they all play a role in driving Jackson out of retirement.

I see why some could not finish
Revisado: 04-15-23
I did finish but it was painful, even at double speed. I bunch of whiny, unhappy, jealous, pretentious, almost impossible to like characters. I do not like this type of writing, very little plot, lots of words expressing the petty thought, words and actions of minor characters. I do not see how any of it was funny. There was nothing that even made me smile.

Revisado: 07-03-20
So many words. I ask myself why? Never connected with any character. Three things happen in the book with 22 hours of talking around those things with little advancement.

Irritating reader
Revisado: 12-17-19
I really enjoyed this story but the reader’s different voices were very annoying to me. I have never had a performer irritate me like this one. I would listen to the next book in this series if the reader changes.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Not worth it
Revisado: 10-09-19
This is a story about five people that are very unlikable. Most of them don’t even like themselves. I made it through the book sort of listening at 2x speed. It was the only way I could listen to the end.

Written by a true fan of the Brits.
Revisado: 08-01-18
I did enjoy this book. However the narrator’s tendency to say the last word of a phrase very softly is aggravating. This is certainly the most biased (pro-British) book that I have ever read. But for a very long book, it doesn’t often drag.

Historia
At the dawn of the last millennium in the year 1000, Europe was one of the world's more stagnant regions-an economically undeveloped, intellectually derivative, and geopolitically passive backwater, with illiteracy, starvation, and disease the norm for almost everyone. Yet only three centuries later, all of this had changed.

By the instructor’s own admission this is a fairly superficial covering of the High Middle Ages I would have liked a little more detail in what people’s lives were like. Otherwise I found this lecture series to be very enjoyable and not tedious as some are.

Historia
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

Very very good, very good.
Revisado: 01-14-18
I really enjoyed this course, this course. I have tired with some other great courses that were this long, that were this long. The only slightly irritating issue I had with this professor was his tendency to repeat himself, tendency to repeat. Some lectures were much worse than others, worse then others. But if this review doesn’t bother you, doesn’t bother you, then you will not mind his repetition, his repetition. As I said initially, this was a very enjoyable course, very enjoyable. A credit well spent, well spent.
