Historia
Waiting to be deployed on a critical mission, elite Marine Raider Matthew Redd stops to help a stranger and wakes up hours later to learn his team was wiped out in an ambush. Unable to remember anything, Redd can’t deny the possibility that he’s somehow responsible for the information leak that led to the massacre. He’s given a deal to avoid a charge of treason, but it means walking away from the Corps and the life he loved. As he faces his loss, Matty gets a cryptic message from his adoptive father, J. B.: “Trouble’s come knocking. . . . Might need your help.”

unlikely plot but interesting characters
Revisado: 11-23-24
l found the book entertaining but predictable. Redd is too much like the Rambo and lacks the authentic plot that an original Tom Clancy novel. The author tries to write a love story, but fails to make any of the love interests real. More like early James Bond where you know that the women that are bad will ultimately end up dead.

It's senior party week, that magical in-between time after classes have ended but before graduation, chock-full of gimmicky theme parties, last-minute bonding, and family traditions. Olivia couldn't be more ready. Class salutatorian and confident in her future at LSU, she's poised to sail through to the next phase of her life. But when the tiny hiccup of an unsigned off-campus P.E. form puts Olivia in danger of not graduating at all, she has one week to set things straight without tipping off her very big and very nosy extended family.

Good story, could have shorter
Revisado: 06-20-24
I did enjoy the story, but the author played out the story. I felt the plot line was predictable. The story was, "much ado about nothing". Teenage angst about kids of prelidge and spoiled lifestyle making poor choices and avoiding consequences. In the end they all get what they want. Real life seldom works out this way. Would not recommend to a friend.

When people think of the plays of Shakespeare, they tend to think of his comedies and tragedies that spotlight interpersonal dynamics like love and jealousy, pretense and reality. But my guest would say that many of Shakepeare's plays, especially his sometimes overlooked histories, are also unmatchable in revealing the dynamics of power.Eliot Cohen is a military historian, political scientist, professor of international studies, and former State Department counselor, as well as the author of The Hollow Crown: Shakespeare on How Leaders Rise, Rule, and Fall. Entertaining story, but very impractical
Revisado: 03-03-24
Lee Child is a good writer, but this story was so impractical that it made it hard to listen to at times. It was like a Marvel comic where impossible events happen and you suspend your logic to follow the super hero do what you knew was going to happen from the opening paragraph. I still enjoy Reacher as a character.

Good, but predictable story
Revisado: 07-26-23
The story was interesting but predictable. The character development was enough to understand the relationship, but not overly complex. Definitely worth listening to and overall very enjoyable because the voice talent was excellent.

Depressing, plodding, and lacking editing
Revisado: 01-12-23
I listened to the entire audio book, believing that it would improve as the story evolved. It did not! The plot line had potential, but the story could have benefited from good editing. Depressing and life lessons it tried to present were lost in the wandering of the plot. It was painful to listen to the reader, who sounded like the characters were from Brooklyn rather than Maine.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.
