After more than twenty years away from the law, Joe Hennessy is forced back into the courtroom. Trying to save his vineyard after years of drought, Hennessy returns to practice in Charleston, South Carolina–the city he walked away from after the murder of his ten-year-old son. When one of South Carolina's most powerful men is charged with possessing stolen artwork, Hennessy steps forward to defend him. But as Hennessy digs into the evidence, as he navigates the truth, he finds that the criminal charges are only the start of their problems…

Historia
Narrated by Emmy Award–winning actor Martin Sheen, The Home Front: Life in America During World War II takes listeners into the lives of Americans at home—part of the Greatest Generation—who supported the war effort and sustained the country during wartime. The war brought immediate, life-changing shifts: the rationing of meat, dairy products, and sugar; an explosion of war-related jobs; and, despite mixed signals, a greater role for women working outside the home.

BEST AUDIBLE BOOK EVER (5 YEAR MEMBER)
Revisado: 03-23-20
This is not a book as much as it is a show… Hundreds and hundreds of audio clips from the 20s 30s and 40s make this so authentic and easy to listen to… I found myself wanting to stop it so that it would not all go by so fast! If that makes any sense… Martin Sheen is a phenomenal voice talent and he makes all of this come to life! A fantastic historical treasure. You will not be disappointed!

Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, a father, a neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

GRISHAM'S BEST
Revisado: 01-18-19
I've read (listened to) almost ALL of JG's novels - they're all great - but THIS one was the BEST. Michael Beck is my FAVORITE narrator (w/his MULTIPLE voices for different characters, etc.). He was AWESOME in this production and I'm frankly SAD that it ENDED. It was THAT GOOD. 6 STARS!
