I've watched the anime of the same name, and it's incredible how faithful they were to the source material, but considering how much happened in the first volume of the light novel I just finished, I anticipate the first season will wrap up by the end of the next audio book or the third volume at the latest. Thoroughly entertaining!

I didn't think it was possible to Jane so many epilogues in one book. Some of the chapters were flat-out confusing, too. Despite my reservations, I was happy with the end of the book, Kudos to the author for finishing this before he died. Rest in peace.

Such a classic author paired with pre-eminent actors in the macabre should rate perfection, but for some vexing reason unknown to me, none of the titles of the stories or poems are read before the tales themselves.

I almost gave up on this a few times because the narrator isn't that good, but a buddy of mine loves the series, so I gave it a shot for him and wound up liking it more than I thought I would. The concept is compelling and the main character is somebody I can root for, plus it's a lot of fun seeing him sort out all of his misadventures and gradually become exceptional. I'll be getting the next book after this review!

I was supposed to have read this in college but finked out on it. if I'd been able to listen to this at the time, it would have been a breeze. Breathtaking action sequences, moving grief and rage--all masterfully narrated--shows me why Homer is first among the classics.
