Historia
Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells - taken without her knowledge - became one of the most important tools in medicine: The first “immortal” human cells grown in culture, which are still alive today, though she has been dead for more than 60 years. HeLa cells were vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects.

Fantastic
Revisado: 06-05-16
This book was so well written. From the very beginning to the very end I had such a hard time waiting for my two hour commute to pick up where I left off.
From a tragic event for the family, to all of the good that has occurred as a result of that event is simply overwhelming.

Historia
A highly infectious, deadly virus from the Central African rain forest suddenly appears in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. There is no cure. In a few days, 90 percent of its victims are dead. A secret military SWAT team of soldiers and scientists is mobilized to stop the outbreak of this exotic "hot" virus. The Hot Zone tells this dramatic story, giving a hair-raising account of the appearance of rare and lethal viruses and their "crashes" into the human race.

Scary Stuff
Revisado: 11-21-09
Are we a virus on this earth and the earth is just counteracting to shift it's balance. The most interesting concept in the book. Really scary stuff out there and shows me how insignificant we can become when these nasty virus's decide to show their colours

Historia
Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six. They were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry was thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future.

Entertaining Read

An Entertaining Tale, once started I found myself moving time around in order to finish it. I will have to see what other works are available by this author. Definitely worth it
