Historia
I'm not the kind of girl who has one-night stands. Except...I did. What can I say? After a few drinks with a gorgeous man who made me feel alive for the first time since losing my mom, I was powerless to say no. And I didn't regret it. Not one minute of our hot, mind-melting night together. But he wasn't a forever kind of guy. So I walked away. I wasn't supposed to ever see him again. Then I did. Turns out my sexy one-night stand is Dr. Jacob Mitchell - and he's the cardiothoracic surgeon who just saved my dad's life.

Enjoyable listen I love this narrator. Sarah Puckett is the best of the romance novel narrators. I could listen to anything she narrates.

Awe and exhilaration—along with heartbreak and mordant wit—abound in Lolita, which tells the story of the aging Humbert Humbert's obsession for the nymphet Dolores Haze. Lolita is also the story of a hypercivilized European colliding with the cheerful barbarism of postwar America.

What? A classic?
Revisado: 06-09-24
I don’t get why this is a classic. It was so boring. By the end I was falling asleep. Wondering how this could possibly be on the best books lists.

Historia
Hardly a day goes by that we don’t hear about someone committing a violent, reprehensible, even evil, act. And each time it happens, before we know anything about the circumstances, we are already sure of one thing: We are nothing like that perpetrator. But how can we be so sure? After all, we are all human. In Understanding the Dark Side of Human Nature, Professor Daniel Breyer takes us on a fascinating philosophical journey into many of the deepest and darkest questions that have engaged humanity for millennia.

Historia
One of the great fears many of us face is that despite all our effort and striving, we will discover at the end that we have wasted our life. In A Guide to the Good Life, William B. Irvine plumbs the wisdom of Stoic philosophy, one of the most popular and successful schools of thought in ancient Rome, and shows how its insight and advice are still remarkably applicable to modern lives. In A Guide to the Good Life, Irvine offers a refreshing presentation of Stoicism, showing how this ancient philosophy can still direct us toward a better life.

Too Much Self Loathing
Revisado: 07-04-22
I was hopeful this would be a good read. Turned out to be just irritating. She goes back and forth through the whole book from “poor me” to grandiosity. She makes excuses for her bad choices and blames them on other people’s actions. She could just be a narcissist. She wants you to feel bad for her, but also wants you to think she’s amazing. Me, me, me, me.

Historia
The Introvert Advantage dispels common myths about introverts - they’re not necessarily shy, aloof, or antisocial - and explains how they are hardwired from birth to focus inward, so outside stimulation such as chitchat, phone calls, parties, or office meetings can easily become "too much". Most importantly, it thoroughly refutes many introverts’ belief that something is wrong with them. Instead, it helps them recognize their inner strengths - their analytical skills, ability to think outside the box, and strong powers of concentration.

Title should be: How NOT to be an Introvert.
Revisado: 09-18-21
It is basically a book of techniques to try to transform yourself into an extrovert. It reenforces the idea that being an introvert is NOT ok. You need to conform to the extroverted world.
I expected this to talk about why it’s ok to be an introvert. Advantages to being an introvert. How your brain differs.

Negative thoughts are like weeds that grow all the time without any nurturing since it’s in the human nature to think of negative consequences.
On the other hand, positive thinking about health, love, wealth, success are hard to come by, and like everything worth fighting in this life, they require a lot of nurture and care.
This audiobook plans to give you exactly what you need: the means to stay positive through constant affirmations designed to help improve oneself, change a bad behaviour, or channel the universe to attract good things in your life.

Really requires you to pretend your job is a lot better than it is. Like feeling that you are well compensated for your work. There is no amount of hearing that phrase which is going to make me believe that.
