Historia
If you can’t run more than 25 MPH, you’re toast! When Lillian Williams became the Sheriff of Daimler, SC, she thought she would have it easy for the rest of her career. Nothing ever truly happened there, ever, and that was the way she liked it. .....until the night that a maniac freak on a moped appeared and began a killing spree along the small-town roads and highways, and it was up to Lillian and her deputy son Dennis to track him down.

great performance by narrator
Revisado: 08-23-24
this was a great performance by the narrator. he has a clear voice and is very entertaining to listen to. The story was fun, although as someone who drove a moped for years, I can't say I see this stuff actually happening. i could see injuries, sure. but full blown slayings, I'm not sure I could see that. Driving over someone in mine would have injured me as a driver far more than the being beneath. but it was fun nonetheless.

the film electric dreams but with modern technology
Revisado: 07-27-24
Well-written and moody with a great overall tone. My only real issue with this book is that its basically just the exact same plot of the 80's film Electric Dreams but set in a modern world, centering (in a very meta way) around a writer. This took a while to get going and never really got scary, but it was still well done and enjoyable, making you think about how much trust we put in technology these days. I listened to it on audiobook and the narration was really well done

this is my third read of McFadden's and it was pretty fun. the plot gets pretty convoluted in the last third but I enjoyed the lead up a lot. she always keeps you guessing. Audio performance was great. loved the narrators voice.

Historia
Psychiatrist Dr. Gwen Moore is an expert on killers. She’s spent a decade treating California’s most depraved predators and unlocking their motives - predators much like the notorious Bloody Heart serial killer, whose latest teenage victim escaped and then identified local high school teacher Randall Thompson as his captor. The case against Thompson as the Bloody Heart Killer is damning - and closed, as far as Gwen and the media are concerned. If not for one new development.

story was great but narrators pickups were so jarring
Revisado: 06-25-24
the story was fantastic. very twisty and the evidence was really fun to follow. Torre is a master at her craft and I really enjoyed the twisted reveal of who was responsible for the serial killings. The narration was rough at times. about 80% of it sounded amazing and then there was another 20% that sounded super jarring. like an AI voice for half a sentence or a few words. it was almost as if the pickups the narrator did were just slapped together at totally different volumes and speeds. at time it almost felt like a TOTALLY different person narrating those parts.
great story. narration needs work.

Historia
Do you want to successfully self-publish in eBook, print, or audiobook formats? There are thousands of new books being published every day, but many self-published books quickly sink to the bottom of the pile. Many authors are frustrated because there are so many options for self-publishing, and they don't know which one to choose or what will be best for their book. Others spend thousands of dollars to publish and end up brokenhearted with the result. But it doesn't have to be this way.

an interesting mystery full of a creative cast of characters
Revisado: 03-01-24
I really enjoyed this mystery and thought the plot was interesting. Hansen certainly knows how to set up a scene. I really enjoyed following the characters as Kelly Clark unraveled this mystery. I really enjoyed hearing about the details of her divorce as they were revealed as well as the tension surrounding that trauma.
The narrator seemed a little stiff but was clear and very easy to understand.

a heartbreaking coming if age tale
Revisado: 03-01-24
The narrators voice is amazing. I could listen to her for hours. Just Like Ziggy touched on so many deep topics that affect our youth today (mental health, etc) and covers these subjects in a way that is both sensitive and interesting. I would absolutely read more by this author. I know this is book two but it was a great standalone and I understood this story perfectly without having read the first one.
