Historia
The 1960 baseball season is shaping up to be the worst year of Eddie O’Leary’s life. He can’t manage to hit the ball, his new teammates hate him, he’s living out of a suitcase, and he’s homesick. When the team’s owner orders him to give a bunch of interviews to some snobby reporter, he’s ready to call it quits. He can barely manage to behave himself for the length of a game, let alone an entire season. But he’s already on thin ice, so he has no choice but to agree.

Wonderful Author and Narrator!
Revisado: 05-13-24
This is so good! Cat Sebastian and Joel Leslie are a match made in audiobook heaven, I adore them! The contrast of feel good moments and powerful emotion is woven so expertly by Sebastian, and Leslie gives life to the characters, and allows the reader to know them.

I have listened to this book 3 or 4 times now, and it truly gets better every time.
I wish TJ Klune books never ended, I’m enamored.

Historia
In the spring of 1995, Nate Cartwright has lost everything: his parents are dead, his only brother wants nothing to do with him, and he's been fired from his job as a journalist in Washington, DC. With nothing left to lose, he returns to his family's summer cabin outside the small mountain town of Roseland, Oregon, to try and find some sense of direction. The cabin should be empty. It's not. Inside is a man named Alex. And with him is an extraordinary ten-year-old girl who calls herself Artemis Darth Vader. Artemis, who isn't exactly as she appears.

TJ Klune owns me…. I am under a spell
Revisado: 11-16-23
I love this book so much that I started it over from the beginning before I finished it the first time, because I needed to prolong my stay with these beautiful people. I don’t know what to say about TJ Klune, he is pure magic. I have gone from open, out loud (ugly) sobbing, to outright laughing in the same second. With a lot of other literature, that kind of pivot would cheapen both sides of the emotion. TJ Klune manages to amplify them. I am in love with everything he writes. And I will be in love forever.
Also, Kirt Graves makes the best Artemis Darth Vader.

So Incredibly Beautiful
Revisado: 10-23-23
I’m not sure how TJ Klune can weave the entire spectrum of emotion into his stories like this, he is truly outstanding at what he does.
I listen to books all the time, and I react in my mind, but not outwardly…this book made me laugh out loud, and it made me openly sob, and just about everything in between. I adored it and would recommend it to anyone. The narrator was also incredible, the voices were perfect.
You will be better for listening to this.
