A good fantasy novel mixed with a trashy erotica romance
Revisado: 04-19-24
Again, we have the makings of a good fantasy novel mixed with sections of trashy erotica. I would pay extra for a version of these books with out the over the top sex scenes that are overly graphic for no point other then to be graphic. Still, I like the series enough to suffer through them and I'll be getting the third book. You can't just skip either, as sometimes it happens in the middle of a chapter and they get interrupted.

Historia
Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life-working hard all day and partying all night - until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She'll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths. Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose - to assassinate his boss' enemies, no questions asked.

A good fantasy book mixed with a bad romance novel
Revisado: 02-28-24
After getting past the beginning where I wondered why I kept listening since it's a slow buildI rather enjoyed the book for the most part, The payoff at the end was worth it. I certainly could have done without the romance and sex though, those parts are written like a bad romance novel and really distract from the rest of the book.
Elizabeth Evans does a tremendous job with narration and the different voices.

Historia
The Resistance is in ruins. In the wake of their harrowing escape from Crait, what was once an army has been reduced to a handful of wounded heroes. Finn, Poe, Rey, Rose, Chewbacca, Leia Organa - their names are famous among the oppressed worlds they fight to liberate. But names can only get you so far, and Leia’s last desperate call for aid has gone unanswered. From the jungles of Ryloth to the shipyards of Corellia, the shadow of the First Order looms large, and those with the bravery to face the darkness are scattered and isolated.

Good narration but nothing happens
Revisado: 12-03-19
The presentation was good in this book, as it usually is for SW books. Unfortunately, absolutely nothing happens in this book that matters at all and it fills nothing in that makes you feel like you got that extra something. Very disappointed.

okay but too short.

what it has is good, but it ends way too quickly. I would have liked a lot more to fill in the gaps.

This book has a weird dichotomy. On one hand, you have first person chapters giving a brief but interesting overview of DB s career, as told by him. While I would have liked them to be longer, they were very interesting nonetheless. But alternating with those you have these weird 3rd person chapters read by somebody else that focuses exclusively on the buildup to wm30. These chapters are horrible and bring the whole book down - worse, by the time the DB chapters catch up, they become redundant.

it's a little slow until the last part, but it does do a good job of flushing out Galen Erso and Director Krennic.

some of it comes across as sour grapes, but overall it is an entertaining collection of stories. unlike the official wwe books, JTG obviously doesn't care what happens to him so they have a nice unvarnished feel to them.
