Historia
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

The main character is annoying
Revisado: 03-23-25
The story itself was ok. The main character ignoring every single red flag is so unrealistic and got on my nerves. Hearing her justify all the obvious signs is not enjoyable.

Historia
1800s China. Tightly bound feet, or "golden lilies," are the mark of an honorable woman, eclipsing beauty, a rich dowry and even bloodline in the marriage stakes. When Little Flower is sold as a maidservant—a muizai—to Linjing, a daughter of the prominent Fong family, she clings to the hope that one day her golden lilies will lead her out of slavery. Not only does Little Flower have bound feet, uncommon for a muizai, but she is extraordinarily gifted at embroidery, a skill associated with the highest class of a lady.

Way too drawn out
Revisado: 03-02-25
The story could have been great but was way too drawn out. The short stories from then and now were too short. Very little happened with each back and forth. Narrators were ok. Also there was no character development on why she was like she was. Hard to believe.

Intriguing Plot
Revisado: 02-27-25
I like the story but some of the details were just too much to be believable. I also do not like the male narrator. He is such an over actor, I found it hard to listen at times. I don't know why he has to sound angry all the time.

Historia
Poe Webb, host of a popular true crime podcast, invites people to anonymously confess crimes they’ve committed to her audience. She can’t guarantee the police won’t come after her “guests,” but her show grants simultaneous anonymity and instant fame—a potent combination that’s proven difficult to resist. After an episode recording, Poe usually erases both criminal and crime from her mind. But when a strange and oddly familiar man appears on her show, Poe is forced to take a second look.

Good story.
Revisado: 02-23-25
I thought the story was a good one. I didn't like the attitude of the main character at times as it didn't really seem realistic if she was in the situation she was in. The last two hours were way too long and drug out. I got annoyed at all the long winded thoughts that didn't get closer to the end. Narrator was great.

The story was good, but all the repeated stuff was annoying. It had a good ending and was a quick listen. Just got tired of hearing some stuff over and over.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.
