Historia
The Covert Passive Aggressive Narcissist: Finding Healing After Hidden Emotional and Psychological Abuse is the most comprehensive and helpful audiobook on the topic of covert narcissism. This type of narcissism is one of the most damaging forms because the abuse is so hidden and so insidious. You can be in a relationship that can last for decades and not realize you are being psychologically and emotionally controlled, manipulated, and abused.

This has been my entire marriage. Everything in this book is 100 true.
Revisado: 04-30-25
This book helped me to understand what I had married. A fake person that has completely broken me after 36 years of very convincing acting. I learned that I am not alone and some coping mechanisms. This book is invaluable for someone that has been abused by a covert narcissist. I cannot recommend this enough. God Bless. May you all find peace.

Historia
The Foxfire Magazine, a literary journal first published in 1967 in Rabun Gap, Georgia, was founded on the belief that stories and meaning could be found in Appalachian spaces, not only in classics such as Shakespeare. Filled with poetry and prose from local students and authors, the magazine also featured interviews with relatives and neighbors. These oral histories conducted by students from the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School quickly became the star of the magazine. Now, pulled from the vast Foxfire archive, come twenty-one oral histories from southern Appalachian women.

Being an Appalachian myself this book brought back so many memories and lessons learned from my ancestors.
It was also close to home, 1 story being from my own county. I wish all the books were available on Audible. I loved this . Highly recommend

Historia
From the 1920s to 1950, Georgia Tann ran a black-market baby business at the Tennessee Children’s Home Society in Memphis. The publication of Lisa Wingate’s novel Before We Were Yours brought new awareness of Tann’s lucrative career in child trafficking. Adoptees who knew little about their pasts gained insight into the startling facts behind their family histories. Encouraged by their contact with Wingate and award-winning journalist Judy Christie, who documented the stories of 15 adoptees in this book, many determined Tann survivors set out to trace their roots.

Incredible!
Revisado: 08-14-23
After reading Before we were Yours , I had to find out more. This happened in the era of my parents birth and although they weren’t from Tennessee they were from the hills of Georgia. I’m appalled that this was happening for 30 + years and so many families were robbed of their heritage.
Even though some of these adoptees were brought up in good homes and had a happy and fulfilling life, I still believe there are countless children that are unaccounted for. It has prompted me to research my own family history.
Yes! The story must be told. It’s just a shame Ms Georgia Tann didn’t live long enough to be held accountable.
Outstanding book!

Really great read.
Revisado: 05-23-23
I loved this book. Very detailed, honest and I got a better feel for the band and how the shows/concerts were handled.
I was perfectly happy with the ending because anyone’s that a Skynyrd lover already knows the horrific details of that crash. I prefer learning more about their days from the beginning. Great book.
**it seems there is a lot of survivor’s guilt. God Bless them all.

Historia
This intimate story of Lynyrd Skynyrd tells how a band of lost souls and self-destructive misfits, with uncertain artistic objectives, clawed their way to the top of the rock 'n' roll world. It also offers a greater appreciation for a band whose legacy, in the aftermath of their last plane ride, has since descended into self-caricature.

Lots of inaccuracies
Revisado: 04-20-23
This was a waste of my time. While the ‘story’ was interesting, I felt it was mostly fiction. I also detest the way Gary and Dale were portrayed. No one knows the 100% truth about what happened during the crash nor the years afterward.
I don’t recommend this fictional book.

I loved this book! Very interesting and entertaining. I do wish that there had been 1 more narrator for all the different characters. And I wanted Jo and Gabe to get married but…. Still a great book with a happy ending.

Loved this! It feels unfinished however that’s understandable. I learned much more about Ronnie James Dio than I realized I would. I would love a follow up to this, a part 2 of you will.
Anyway, rock on Dio! Rock music is better for having known you.

Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

Not as good as Becoming
Revisado: 02-15-23
I was looking forward to listening to this book but was disappointed in the content. Some parts were very good and some were really not. Pride cometh before a fall and that’s how I felt listening to this book. And that’s about all I’m going to say.
