Historia
Recon Marine Conor McCall didn’t expect action during his training op in the icy waters off Norway. But when a bizarre summer fog engulfs his boat, he and his team find themselves in a fight against strange, cruel monsters from the depths of the North Sea. When even their allies are enemies, the Recon Marines must do what they have always done: adapt or die. But with a world of ice and monsters seeking to destroy them, every second is mission-critical.

Better than Forgotten Ruin
Revisado: 09-05-22
Army Airborne here and I gotta say, great book! Military stuff is on point, and the story is way better than Forgotten Ruin (which is essentially just one or two running fight scenes per book). The platoon size instead of company sized element made it easier to follow the characters, the monsters WERE scary instead of the author just telling us they were scary and then having the protagonists just nuke them.
I'd also like to add that the main character being a competent Team Leader instead of a Terp is really insightful, because it allows for 1st person descriptions of combat instead of a constant "outsider looking in" feeling.
Overall, great book! Finished it in a weekend, excited to read the next ones!

Historia
Druss, Captain of the Axe: the stories of his life were told everywhere. Instead of the wealth and fame he could have claimed, he had chosen a mountain lair, high in the lonely country bordering on the clouds. There the grizzled old warrior kept company with snow leopards and awaited his old enemy, death.

This book.
Revisado: 02-19-19
I'm not an emotional person, in fact, it causes some problems in my relationship. I didn't cry throughout the entirety of this book. However, I am currently having a breakdown because of it. This book is absolutely incredible, I love it. There were moments where I, someone who has performed in plays and in talent shows in school, was tempted to stop the audiobook because of the intense "I can't look" syndrome I was getting from the book. That's a good thing. It's a great thing.
At least give this book a try. And if you have some spare change, pick it up. You won't regret it.

Historia
Jeremy Heere is your average high school dork. Day after day he stares at beautiful Christine, the girl he can never have, and dryly notes the small humiliations that come his way, until the day he is told about the "squip". A pill-sized supercomputer that you swallow, the squip is guaranteed to bring you whatever you most desire in life. By instructing him on everything from what to wear to how to talk and walk, the squip transforms Jeremy from a supergeek to one of the most popular guys in class.
