Historia
One moment I'm a heretical priest in the twelfth century, hunted, hated...the next, I'm waking up in the nearest corpse. Stuck in a cycle of instant reincarnation, popping back up like a tarnished penny.

The narration…
Revisado: 04-21-24
As much as I tried to like it, the narration grated my mind. The story, I think , was shaping up nicely but I just couldn’t listen to it anymore after giving it a chance for a couple hours.

Historia
The primary appeal that Boil the Frog will have for most people will be the step-by-step guide on how to lose the weight you want to lose. However, this audiobook will actually surprise you about how it dives deep into the very depths of your mind to find where you got lost and show you how to come back--even from addiction.

The book itself was informative and had a lot of helpful tips. I’m not prone to handing out bad reviews, but goodNESS it was difficult to listen to the narration.

Historia
Centuries ago, the followers of the new gods defeated the old gods, and the folk of legend were banished from the world. With their departure, magic faded from the land. However, the Milesian Accords provided for a new challenge, and its time rapidly approaches. The descendant of the druid who participated in the original challenge, Liam Knox, must forge the sword for the Champion to wield, and write the next set of Accords. Time is running out, though, and the minions of the new gods will stop at nothing to ensure he fails in his tasks.

Much better than the first one
Revisado: 09-26-23
I was glad that I was invested enough in the story to give the second book a chance. The storyline is improving and while there’s still intimacy and mention of sex acts, it isn’t at the forefront or nearly as disgusting when mentioning how one of the antagonists is abusing the witches.

Historia
Centuries ago, the followers of the new gods defeated the old gods and the folk of legend, banishing them from the world of man. With their departure, magic faded from the land. The Milesian Accords had provisions for a new challenge, though, and the Exiled Gods have sent their minions back to our world to seek out a champion to fight for them and a druid able to wield the magic needed to fulfill the challenge. A descendant of the druid who participated in the original challenge, Liam Knox doesn’t know anything about the Accords or his ancestors....

Fairly accurate mythology
Revisado: 09-19-23
The author is definitely well-versed in the mythology as well as the ongoing fluffy bunnies vs deconstructionists. Great story line, mostly, although it devolved at times. The narration could have been improved with better accents and proper pronunciation of the “Old Names” and Irish , but I cannot convey the number of times I cringed because I knew he was about to say “grodge” instead of “garage”, but the voices were ok.

What a wonderful book! Beautifully written and beautifully read. I do hope this is the first book in a series, or at least the first of its kind in a magical collection.

Formula
Revisado: 10-13-17
Had I not read all his other novels and read this one as a stand-alone, I would have rated it five stars. It's a great book on its own. However, I have read his other books, and though I love his historical, artistic, and symbolic accuracy, he follows a nearly identical plot sequence with each book. *spoiler alert* I even began the book searching for the innocent decoy villain and the highly-trusted person who turns out to be the real bad guy, and I made an accurate hypothesis, although I wouldn't have known to look for those had I not read his previous novels. Dan Brown is a very talented writer and I still believe his historical fiction is unsurpassed, and most of all, his work makes people think about what they believe in.
