Historia
On the evening of July 25, 1965, Bob Dylan took the stage at Newport Folk Festival, backed by an electric band, and roared into his new rock hit, "Like a Rolling Stone". The audience of committed folk purists and political activists who had hailed him as their acoustic prophet reacted with a mix of shock, booing, and scattered cheers. It was the shot heard round the world - Dylan's declaration of musical independence, the end of the folk revival, and the birth of rock as the voice of a generation - and one of the defining moments in 20th-century music.

I would have chosen a different Narrator I had to listen at 1.2 to get through it. He sounds like a Engineer I picture him in a white short sleeved dress shirt a pocket protector and crew cut.
It's a good Oral History of the birth of Folk Rock. Great details.

The Story is very interesting but the writing is terrible. The NARRATOR is also boring I guess the author wrote exactly as the man said it. The book "The Son" tells the same story in the Colonel's voice overall underwhelming

Historia
On the right side of the law. Sort of. Sebastian Rudd is not your typical street lawyer. He works out of a customized bulletproof van, complete with Wi-Fi, a bar, a small fridge, fine leather chairs, a hidden gun compartment, and a heavily armed driver. He has no firm, no partners, no associates, and only one employee: his driver, who's also his bodyguard, law clerk, confidant, and golf caddy.

Historia
On January 28, 1742, a ramshackle vessel of patched-together wood and cloth washed up on the coast of Brazil. Inside were thirty emaciated men, barely alive, and they had an extraordinary tale to tell. They were survivors of His Majesty’s Ship the Wager, a British vessel that had left England in 1740 on a secret mission during an imperial war with Spain. While the Wager had been chasing a Spanish treasure-filled galleon known as “the prize of all the oceans,” it had wrecked on a desolate island off the coast of Patagonia.

ESPN began as an outrageous gamble with a lineup that included Australian Rules Football, rodeo, and a rinky-dinky clip show called Sports Center. Today the empire stretches far beyond television into radio, magazines, mobile phones, restaurants, video games and more, while ESPN's personalities have become global superstars to rival the sports icons they cover.

Eye opening and hard to put down
Revisado: 01-21-23
Really enjoyed the book mostly because I am of an age that I remember when it launched. With Boomer and Lee and then The Big Show was literally as popular on campus as David Letterman. I am still a huge fan of Dan and Keith no matter where Keith is. If you came of age in the 80's this is your book. When the paperback comes out do we get the updated version?

Historia
This second volume in William Manchester's three-volume biography of Winston Churchill challenges the assumption that Churchill's finest hour was as a wartime leader. During the years 1932-1940, he was tested as few men are. Pursued by creditors (at one point he had to put up his home for sale), he remained solvent only by writing an extraordinary number of books and magazine articles.

I really enjoyed volume 1 but volume II is a chore I'm sure the narrator is perfect for our cousins across the pond but to this Texans ear almost intolerable.
