I enjoyed this podcast. I was drawn right in and wanted to keep listening. Loved the actors and was easy to follow despite being out there. I can’t wait for the next series.

Not my favorite
Revisado: 07-20-22
I have been on a recent Kristin Hannah kick and this is my least favorite so far. For me the story lacked depth and the narration was pretty annoying at times; having the characters sounding extremely whining with a babyish tone. I would not recommend this book in particular but would encourage other Kristin Hannah books such as Winter Garden or The Great Alone.

Honestly I felt like these women just talked about themselves. The humming from the others was ridiculous and felt dis-ingenious. Talk to the listening audience. I could not come up with a take away.

Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

I just finished listening to this beautiful and heartbreaking story and I have chills. I have no words to adequately describe how moved I was throughout this entire book. Kristen Hannah’s ability to paint the picture so vividly well has me speechless and longing for more of the story, but I appreciate the way it ends and will have the feelings of sadness and happiness all at the same time for what I believe will be days to come. I won’t be able to start another until I can get over this book. The narrator told the story so incredibly well and I was easily able to connect with each character. Not Russian but I thought the accents were fabulous. I just love this book and highly recommend you give it a listen.

A good story well told. I enjoyed the character, Melody, and appreciated how kind and resilient she was. I also loved how her desire to know her past gave her the determination to go to unfamiliar places and have conversations with people she thought she didn’t know and went on to live her truth. This story shows you that family isn’t always blood relations, but has to do more with having people in your life that love you and want the best for you. So glad I picked it; you should too!

I absolutely loved this story! It usually takes me sometimes several chapters before a book hooks me but this one had me at the very beginning. The narrator is absolutely superb. Her ability to change her voice to reflect which character she was is a gift. Her accents were also on point. A must listen or read!

First celebrated for her voice, she became one of the most talked-about women in the world, whether for music and fashion, her relationship struggles, or as a walking blonde joke. But now, instead of being talked about, Jessica is doing the talking. Her audiobook shares the wisdom and inspirations she’s learned and shows the real woman behind all the pop-culture clichés. Open Book is an opportunity to laugh and cry with a close friend, one that will inspire you to live your best, most authentic life, now that she is finally living hers.

I loved Jessica Simpson’s story and appreciated that she told it herself. She normalized herself despite her great success as a business woman and I found good value in that. She has been through it and I am thrilled she found love and happiness. I wish her the best.

Great story
Revisado: 05-30-20
This story is wonderful and I do recommend reading it. The audible narration was hard to take do to monotones and awkward voice inflections and I was not a fan, however I would recommend reading this one from a book.

Revisado: 04-06-20
I really enjoyed the narration in the telling of this story. I found the story to be endearing of unexpected friendships and allowing things to happen and being okay with being uncomfortable. Eleanor’s intuitiveness about her past, and knowing it was wrong, gave hope in trusting yourself and listening to that internal voice that tells us otherwise to what we know by someone else’s misleadings. Raymond’s patience and kindness is what we would all hope for in a friend. Very enjoyable display of personal strength and the will to be happy.
