Just found out that one of my favorite science fiction writers died from covid last year.
Harvey Paul Honsinger, aged 60, passed away on Sunday August 23, 2020 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona after a month-long battle with COVID-19. May he RIP.
I am totally sad and upset.
This series just got better and better and better. I will miss this writing so much.

This is a fairly good listen but would have been much better if the narrator knew how to pronounce the word "debris" which the author uses voluminously. By the end, I was cringing every time he said it.

Excruciating by the end

I wish I could describe how much I disliked this book by the end. Yeah, I get how he wanted to demonstrate the ultimate commitment to a child but he went so totally overboard with it by the end I almost couldn't finish it. A shame because a good editor could have and should have prevented it from happening.

This is a novel that will catch you up in the first page and not let go. You'll be entertained, you'll be shocked, your mouth will drop open in parts and your eyes will bug out.
If you don't listen to it alone, you will have a constant stream of people running in to check on you. Some books allow one to read mutely. Not this one. This one probably sets some kind of record for spontaneous reader expletives.
In between the "ohmigod" moments is enough humor to bring a whole other set of nearby people into the room.
This novel is unique in a way that makes me think it cannot be duplicated. But I'll snap up the author's next work in a heartbeat just in case...
