Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Wildly Eye Opening
Revisado: 02-05-23
Spare by Prince Harry was shockingly candid. This book was received with mixed emotions from everyone. Personally, I’m giving it 4.5/5⭐️ overall. All this book did was reinforce what I already thought - William is Charles’ son while Harry is Diana’s.
•
This book is divided into three parts: growing up, time in the military, his time with Megan + the epilogue continues up to the Queen’s death.
Part One: His childhood was all over the place emotionally with Charles & Diana’s divorce, the way people approached him vs his brother, & trying to simply exist while constantly being in the public eye. Listening to a man describe the traumatic experience of losing a parent at a young age. While I have a similar experience, mine was not consistently thrown in my face. I was surprised by how well received Camilla was by the boys. Family bonds seemed strong.
Part Two: He made friends through the odd bonds that always happen when you’re deployed. However, his time in the military made him feel, at times, as helpless as when he lost his mother. He wanted to do more. He wanted to go farther. Yet, no one would give him the all clear. He was in for a total of 10 years & made the rank of captain, which I never realized.
Part Three: Their story started like a lot of ours. They were both at a party & their eyes met from across the room. They started talking through social media & moved to more. With their hectic schedules, they still made time to spend quality time together. The Queen loved Meghan so she approved the marriage request. Will & Kate never seemed to be ok with Meghan for unspoken reasons. He had to choose between love & family. He chose love. Only one person had done that before, Diana. That’s how it all broke down. You could feel his heart break.

I loved each one differently
Revisado: 01-16-23
Strange Weather by Joe Hill was addictive. I didn’t want to press pause for even a moment! This was my first read by Joe Hill but it will not clearly not be my last! It’s made up of four novellas that expose some dark alternate realities. Stars 6/5 overall + Stars 5/5 narrators Wil Wheaton, Joe Hill, Kate Mulgrew, Stephen Lang, & Dennis Boutsikaris + Intrigue 4/5 + Shock 3/5 so, needless to say, an absolutely wonderful read.
•
Snapshot - The disturbing story of a teen who has numerous run ins with a man who calls himself ‘The Phoenician’ who seems to be in possession of a Polaroid Instant Camera that has some “mind blowing” developments.
•
Aloft - A sci fi style telling of a guy who decides to try parachuting & somehow lands on a cloud. This cloud is unlike any other with powers unknown but try not to think too hard on it.
•
Rain - Boulder, Colorado can have weird weather sometimes but then the sky opens up to a rolling downpour of nails—splinters of bright crystal that shred the skin of anyone out in the open. This is only the beginning of a truly worldwide apocalyptic event.
•
Loaded - In Florida, mall security guard is seemingly turned hero after stopping a mass shooting. When the stress of such a notable figure gets to him, holes are poked in his story…& in his sanity. With another disaster is on its way, will be be able to hold it together & finally have his moment?
•
I have tried & tried to pick a favorite of the four & I simply cannot. They are all so good while keeping you on edge trying to find out what happens next.

Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Buckhead, Georgia - a place where southern charm is sometimes just a disguise for the wickedness that lies beneath. 𝑱𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒚 is the owner of Glow Beauty Bar. Her salon is so exclusive that there’s a waitlist & a contract involved in your membership. 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒏 once ran the elite of Buckhead. That was before her husband, Bryce, decided to toss her to the side for a younger woman. 𝑪𝒓𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒍 is a sweet & naïve Texan…& Bryce’s new wife. 𝑶𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂 feels she’s played second fiddle long enough & will do anything to take what she claims is her rightful place as top dog.
What happens when the wicked underbelly of their town rears its ugly head? What’s next now that they’re all ensnared in the darkness that’s been unfolding right under their noses?
Twists galore. Posh lifestyles. Old family names vs new family names. Beauty & blood. Will you figure it out before you’re caught in their web?

I laughed. I felt the emotions. My heart ached. My smile was wide at many moments. I enjoyed every moment of this audiobook. I definitely wish there had been even more about his younger years & family. Then again, it’s also HIS book so he can write about whatever he so chooses. However, hearing about his close relationships with a myriad of people I’d grown up admiring & paying close attention to was pretty fascinating. Eric Idle’s performance of his book STARS 5/5 + overall STARS 4/5. It’s worth EVERY SINGLE MINUTE!

Are you a true crime fan but you’re tired of hearing about the same “big name” cases over & over again? Then, why have you not started reading literally any works by Ryan Green?! Hop to it!

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of the audiobook of “Drop Dead Dangerous” in exchange for an honest review. Let’s be real. I went into this with high hopes because Mr Green hasn’t disappointed me yet! Well, you can add this one to the list of successes because this receives an overall score of: 5/5 stars + 2/5 on my intrigued scale.
I will admit that I got really nervous when I saw that the narrator was Steve White as we know my feelings about him from the ‘Twelve From Hell’ collection. However, he gets a solid 3/5 stars this time! I don’t know if he got tips, if he was more into this book, or if he’s simply more experienced now but it was a MUCH more pleasant experience this time around.

Ryan Green has done it again!
Revisado: 07-15-22
I was lucky enough to be sent this audiobook collection from the author, Ryan Green, in exchange for an honest review! Oh…my….geez! Shew! My ratings have a lot to cover: Stars? 5/5 writing FOR SURE! + Sickening = 3/5 + Suspense = 3/5. HOWEVER, the Narrators get two separate ratings: Ernie Sprance 5/5 stars while Steve White 3/5 stars. That’s me, personally. I’m super sensitive to sounds & some of the noises made by Mr White hurt my ears to the point I would have to take a minute to recover.
•
There’s just so much to say about this collection! Cases covered:
~ Nannie Doss…why are giggling grannies inherently creepy?
~ The Mockingbird Hill Massacre…definition of a man who’s snapped.
~ The Truro Murders…No man could have this kind of power over me!
~ Gertrude Baniszewski…The house party you never can leave
~ Angus Sinclair…I would become a hermit if I lived in Scotland at the time.
~ Fox Hollow Farm…The Midwest is where interstate killers apparently flock to.
~ Henry Lee Lucas… you know him & Ottis Toole but do you know the extent of their insanity?
~ The Kurim Case…those poor boys never had a chance
~ Katherine Knight…she was way too casual for her crimes!
~ Harold Frederick Shipman…this one got to me-he looks like my neurologist & my grandfather’s name is Harold.
~ Fred & Rose West…The House of Horrors is right! - **very graphic**
~ Colombian Killers…WHAT?! Between them, they were convicted of 329 murders, but it’s believed that the number they committed is over 750?!
I have been recommending this to everyone I know that wants to know more about true crime.
