Historia
A Night in the Pech Valley is Grant McGarry's account of what it takes to become an Army Ranger and what life is like in the 75th Ranger Regiment. More importantly, it is about an operation in the most dangerous terrain for US forces anywhere in the world. The Pech Valley is surrounded by Taliban-filled mountains on the Pakistan border in the Kunar Province, where the mountain peaks push 10,000 feet.

As a former member of the Third Ranger Battalion and experiencing a very similar lifestyle and stories, found this account taking me back to my time at Ft Benning with my Ranger Buddies and visualizing the missions as described here. I was engaged in the tales and also-effin -lutely loved every bit of it. I went to Ranger School when it still had 4 phases and RIP was still in full force. What a ride for the few who served for the many and for those closest to them. Sharing the mud and blood of a Ranger Battalion is a unique experience and one that those of us who served as Real Rangers who served in the Battalions and Regimental HQ would never trade for another experience. That's family, Brothers to the bone.

I'm a big fan of the Sniper Elite books and this did not let me down a bit. Great story, narration and the way it transitions from scene to scene or story to story is fantastic. I was never lost or confused by the switch outs. I prefer audio books due to problems with concentration and the ability to focus while reading etc, so this is perfect for me. The 60 second rewind is just right. Well done...again.

I'm really enjoying this series of the Grey Man. The story, plot and narration are pretty good. The ONLY thing that I could pick is the S. Africans voice/accent sounded more Irish than SAfrican. Very good overall.

Historia
Told through the eyes of current and former Navy SEALs, Eyes on Target is an inside account of some of the most harrowing missions in American history-including the mission to kill Osama bin Laden and the mission that wasn't, the deadly attack on the US diplomatic outpost in Benghazi where a retired SEAL sniper with a small team held off one hundred terrorists while his repeated radio calls for help went unheeded.

Friggin Hooah!
Revisado: 03-16-16
What did you love best about Eyes on Target?
The no nonsense description and depiction of how the SEALs came to be, the transformation to Professionals.
What other book might you compare Eyes on Target to and why?
I have not read another account like this..thats good. Variety is always refreshing.
Which character – as performed by Holter Graham – was your favorite?
I don't recall one in particular.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Anger. I'm a former member of the Spec Ops community and the accounting of the Benghazi Libya murder of 4 americans infuriates me still today. Especially when the 5 AVAILABLE, READY and LEGITIMATE options for support and rescue were presented. Anyone in a leadership position in the Military, Pentagon or WHITE HOUSE absolutely knows that without question Americans will ALWAYS go to the aid of other Americans when danger is present. No questions, hesitation or regrets, we NEVER leave our Brothers and Sisters to die alone. To do so is MURDER and that is what took place. There are ALWAYS contingency plans for hostile areas, particularly on the anniversaries of the worst attack on Americans since Pearl Harbor and in a country that HATES us. Then to outright LIE to the faces of the families of the fallen about what happened and why it happened and when questioned about those lies to claim that the family members are the ones lying??? And to say that the heroes who survived are lying as well???? WHAT???? This is why Americans are fed up with Politicians and their Lackeys who serve them.
Any additional comments?
Thank you to the authors, narrator and the men and women who contributed their accounting of the history, facts and stories in this book. Well done and keep up the fight. When it comes down to the final battle, we know who will be there in the end, until the final breath is drawn.

Not Great, story has potential
Revisado: 03-16-16
Would you try another book from Stephen Hunter and/or Christopher Lane?
Not based upon this one but it's the only one I have heard from them so it is not enough to make a judgement.
Would you ever listen to anything by Stephen Hunter again?
Not sure after just a partial listening. The type of story has potential.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Unfortunately the accents just seemed kinda "hokey" to me, but it must be difficult to portray a generation that you may be unfamiliar with or a dialect, etc. Also transitioning from male to female, American to Pol, Brit to German, etc had to be difficult.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Master Sniper?
Unsure at this time. It's hard to say for me as the story seemed to transition strangely to times, places and people.

What an exciting and incredible thrill ride Dalton Fury takes us on. Very little time to catch your breath and realize what just happened here. Then it's pushing the characters into the next portion of the roller coaster ride. As a former member of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment I loved the realism of the attacks and description of the kills and near misses. Well done, beautifully described.

Exciting
Revisado: 03-08-16
What made the experience of listening to Tier One Wild the most enjoyable?
The description of the action, the characters each had a consistent personality throughout the entire novel and the ability to see the scenarios in my mind's eye.
What other book might you compare Tier One Wild to and why?
Clear and Present Danger by Tom Clancy due to the descriptive nature of the action, the character consistency and military bearing is correct.
Which scene was your favorite?
The takedown of the main site and all of the multiple angles that were described and considered as it was described.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wish I could have, keeping up with the action and progression of the story and characters can be difficult.
Any additional comments?
Great book, great story and series. I'll be back for more!

Historia
The President of the United States can’t decide how to respond to a classified video showing the Taliban’s brutal treatment of their captive - a female helicopter pilot of the Army’s elite Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Afraid that a botched rescue will further destabilize foreign policy and end his presidency, the Commander-in-Chief falters. But when the Special Ops community learns that one of their own is being tortured and will almost certainly be killed, no executive order will stop them from attempting a rescue mission.

Special Ops at its finest
Revisado: 03-01-16
Where does Sniper Elite: One Way Trip rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the best I have listened to so far.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Gil of course, he is the epitome of what the SEALs and Special Ops community strives for.
Which character – as performed by Brian Hutchison – was your favorite?
Gil
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The final exchange between Gil and his wife, and the feelings I had as a member of the Special Ops community when Sandra was tortured. Gils wife is the kind of woman that every Spec Ops Operator wants and needs. Her support when he is in the field and the fire ignited when you are at home together, soaking up the time you spend with one another.
Any additional comments?
Unfortunate that the President is portrayed as such a WUSSY and a Back Stabbing Prick...kinda like our current President who has NO RESPECT for the Armed Services. (Great portrayal of the character) Dated 3/1/2016 when Obama is the current President.
