I don't think the author even remembers her plot anymore. All of this was supposed to happen in less than 2 weeks? Absolutely not. Even the characters keep alluding to a lot more time passing. What woman starts experiencing pregnancy symptoms at 2 weeks? Insane.

As with the last book, I have MANY frustrations with the format now that the story is well and truly moving. Every time I remotely get invested in a story line, the POV changes and it takes WAY too long to mentally catch up to where the author is now.

At this point I just wanna get to the end of the story. I genuinely hope the 4th book is better and makes up for all this headache but I heavily doubt that's even possible for this author.

Theres so many cliffhangers and clearly another book was meant to be written. For whatever reason there's not one and im heartbroken. This was genuinely an interesting premise and now I'll never know how it ends...

Who exactly what this written for?

The author can't seem to make up their mind if they wanted to write a steamy smutt story or have Mia experience life lessons.

Mia reads like how a guy with no experience of female relationships and inner thoughts think a girl would think and act. Specifically her relationship with her "bestie" reads as fake as you can make it. I call my friends b*tch all the time but Mia takes it way to the next level over the top and straight into "yeah, no one talks like that. ever." The same goes for her feelings and observations towards men and sexual encounters. She acts and thinks exactly like how a stereotypical heterosexual man want women to think about them.

The first two months read like a steamy romance novel but the story took a sharp turn when suddenly Mia isn't having hot sex and then has to learn life lessons about family and love and acceptance. It takes the reader/listener straight out of the illusion. When its a smutty novel, at least you can suspend belief but the author writes as if Mia's profound realizations should be profound to us too.

The sex scenes are so beyond inaccurate. It became almost a laughable game to try and count the number of inaccuracies during smut scenes. The understanding of human anatomy is nonexistent and I dont know a single woman who likes it when men make slurping sounds while performing oral the same way a man likes to hear it when its reciprocated. What Mia finds hot in the bedroom 100% of the time is what I myself and many others find gross/misogynistic/shallow.

Mia is presented as someone with a healthy appreciation of sex but really she spends her time putting down men (literally calls them dogs and insinuates that men can't think), slut shaming other women (especially her sister when her sister actually has the healthiest sexual relationship in the whole series), and being way too focused on how amazing she is (and only doling out compliments to people she likes). She's the most unlikable main character of a smut series I have ever had the displeasure to meet.

This story, I would argue, is smut geared toward straight men. No woman alive would be able to tolerate this horrible misrepresentation of what it is to be a 20-something female with a healthy relationship with sex.
