It is the best Audible book I have. If I could, I’d give it 100 stars, best audible, book ever.

Historia
Meet Chris Harris, the 21st-century Shel Silverstein! Already lauded by critics as a worthy heir to such greats as Silverstein, Seuss, Nash, and Lear, Harris' hilarious debut molds wit and wordplay, nonsense and oxymoron, and visual and verbal sleight of hand in masterful ways that make you look at the world in a whole new wonderfully upside-down way. With enthusiastic endorsements from best-selling luminaries such as Lemony Snicket, Judith Viorst, Andrea Beaty, and many others, this entirely unique collection offers a surprise around every corner.

This was the funniest book because there were so many hidden jokes and puns. The voices were funny. It was great poetry. I even memorized a poem…. AVOCADO! Buy this book. It’s great.

Surprisingly Layered and Engaging
Revisado: 08-09-22
Honestly, I thought this would just be a fun romance book mingled with a bit of fantasy. It turned out to be so much more. The characters are well developed. It ended up being suspenseful. I couldn’t put it down. Great book with a great reader.

Historia
Dr. Kay Scarpetta is working a suspicious death scene when an emergency alert sounds on her phone. A video link lands in her text messages and seems to be from her computer-genius niece, Lucy. But how can it be? It's clearly a surveillance film of Lucy taken almost 20 years ago. As Scarpetta watches she begins to learn frightening secrets about her niece. That film clip and others sent soon after raise dangerous legal implications that increasingly isolate Scarpetta and leave her confused, worried, and not knowing where to turn.

Not Cornwell's Best
Revisado: 02-26-16
I love the characters and the plot twists in the Scarpetta series. Regrettably, though, this was not Cornwell's best. Scarpetta repeated and re-summarized so many points in this book that there were times I thought that my iPod had skipped back to an earlier chapter. There were minutes of dialogue explaining acronyms akin to Melville's treatment of whale blubber, but without the artfulness and variations of those descriptions. I finally put the recording on 2x to speed things up, making me presume that I'd have skimmed vast portions of this book.
I'll keep reading because I have hope that Cornwell will get back to her earlier style. This is one book that you could skip in the series. After all, if the next one is anything like this one, Scarpetta will repeat the story from this book several times anyway. Disappointed.
