Historia
I cross the tracks every day for one reason - to graduate from this school and get into the Ivy League. I'm not ashamed of where I come from, my family, or how everyone at Marymount thinks my skirts are too short and my lipstick is too red. Clay Collins and her friends have always turned up their noses at me. The witch with her beautiful skin, clean shoes, and rich parents who torments me daily and thinks I won't fight back. At least not until I get her alone and find out she's hiding so much more than just what's underneath those pretty clothes.

definitely interesting

***Mild Spoiler Warning***
"Tryst Six Venom" was definitely an interesting read.
Desireé Ketchum and Valentina Ortiz did a great job with the narration.
For a book that originated on Wattpad, the writing and plot structure wasn’t that bad.
I’d say that it kinda has some vibes similar to “I Kissed Shara Wheeler” by Casey McQuiston, just darker and geared towards a much older audience.
I was a little hesitant to pick up this book, simply because this type of trope can start romanticizing emotional abuse and blackmail really fast.
If you ignore their toxic history, and sometimes toxic tendencies, they are an interesting couple during the second-half of the book. (I’m being kind of sarcastic here, toxic tendencies shouldn’t be ignored).
The epilogue was really cute though, them being happy together and building a future. I think that by the end, they're a cute couple, I’m just not sure that marrying your former bully is the best, most healthy, decision realistically. I feel like there could still be an unbalanced power dynamic if, for some reason, one of them felt threatened or mad.
I will say that both Olivia and Clay are definitely kinda cliché characters. Olivia, the rich mean girl with a wrecked homelife, who actually humanity underneath her HBIC persona. Olivia, the school biker girl, who’s poor, parentless, an outcast in the school hierarchy, and lives in the “ratty” side of town on the “wrong” side of the train tracks where the rich, White people don’t want to go. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely still thought that they both were interesting, fun to read about, characters, but, like most of the romance genre, the “rich-mean-girl-falls-for-the-outcast-bad-girl” storyline has been done many times before.
If you go along with the story, go with the flow, and turn your brain off a little, it is a fun book. Just be aware that they are probably not the healthiest couple ever, and that it’s not a particularly realistic read.
(Obviously, there are quite a few cringey moments throughout the book, but that just comes with the territory of reading books within the romance genre.)

Alex Blackwood is a little bit headstrong, with a dash of chaos and a whole lot of flirt. She knows how to get the girl. Keeping her on the other hand…not so much. Molly Parker has everything in her life totally in control, except for her complete awkwardness with just about anyone besides her mom. She knows she’s in love with the impossibly cool Cora Myers. She just…hasn’t actually talked to her yet.

Really fun and enjoyable!
Revisado: 04-22-23
I really enjoyed “She Gets the Girl”. Natalie Naudus and Valentina Ortiz did a wonderful job narrating the story. I was afraid that I would end up finding one, or both, of the girls annoying, but no! They were both fun and likable characters. Molly is kind and empathetic, Alex is hilarious and an absolute mood, and both are relatable. I really liked and appreciated the fact that each girl had their own personal plots and things they had to overcome, and it wasn’t just complete fluff. It did take a few chapters for me to really get into the story, but after that, I couldn’t stop listening! I will say that, like any young adult romance novel, there were some scenes that were cringey.
Overall, it was a really fun and enjoyable read!

Historia
Lara's had eyes for exactly one person throughout her three years of high school: Chase Harding. He's tall, strong, sweet, a football star, and frankly, stupid hot. Oh, and he's talking to her now. On purpose and everything. Maybe...flirting, even? No, wait, he's definitely flirting, which is pretty much the sum of everything Lara's wanted out of life. Except she’s haunted by a memory. A memory of a confusing, romantic, strangely perfect summer spent with a girl named Jasmine.

Light and fluffy
Revisado: 04-03-23
I enjoyed "Cool for the Summer". Natalie Naudus did an excellent job narrating the story and voicing all of the diffident characters. Listening to Larissa unconsciously swoon over Jasmine, while simultaneously trying to convince herself that she was only into Chase, was quite amusing. I will say that there were quite a few scenes where I was cringing a bit. It was a fun read, but I will say that it was mostly fluff, and not a ton of actual plot. I did like seeing a queer, Jewish, women of color as a main character though.
I would read this book again!

Enjoyed it thoroughly

I really enjoyed this memoir. It shows us who Nadiya actually is under all the makeup and lights. The chapters are all incredibly engaging and interesting. I loved learning about her family’s dynamic and how the expectations from them and her culture shaped her into who she is today.
