Excellent read- frustrating characters
Revisado: 11-13-24
This has an amazing story to it. it has been a long time since I have had a character that didn't feel peperfect in that they struggle with choices and how those choices turn out. However, I still want to smack Diem sometimes. Come on girl, just shut up and listen for once. Even still you support her. it's long but great.

vibrant characters

Maas always delivers and didn't fail this time. While the story felt rushed at the end it was probably more that I didn't want it to end.

Good story, slow heroine.

Liked the series and the story. Gemma is a great character and the author does great showing her growth from vain ignorance to knowing wisdom. However, throughout this series I wanted to jump through and shake her for being a follower and so naive and trusting. Somethings she brought upon herself and that was just annoying.

Basic
Revisado: 02-22-21
As one who is very well versed in all things fantasy and Fae this was something I was excited to find and read. How disappointed I was.
The story and characters lack depth. Yes, depth is built on a character level usually over several novels in this genre but the main character was rushed and basic.
The writing was rushed and it felt like the author maybe left her thesaurus somewhere and couldn't think of any better words than the F word to use over, and over, and over again. Folks this is not a children's book as it is so labeled.
This may possibly be the only fantasy series that I start and don't finish.
The narrator was the only thing that saved it.
