Revisado: 10-14-24
A really good book with my favorite narrator. I am so invested in the characters. The writer did a great job with character development. Can't wait to hear what happens next.

The crow hissed: "Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t cut your throat here and now. One single damn reason." The prince froze with fear and said nothing. At last, his behavior was logical. His facial features had lost any order. Shivering, he closed his eyes in expectation of certain death. But then there was a whispering. "Could there be three reasons maybe?" She suppressed the reflex to laugh—she hadn’t laughed aloud for years and was not sure if the muscles needed were even still functioning.

Excellent book and series. I love this author
Revisado: 04-25-24
Book... another excellent book from this author. Narrator... fantastic actor that keeps you on the edge of your seat. But, are you telling me no one thought of using a sound engineer for an audio book? The narration was at a reasonable volume but the intense shouting scenes were so loud I think I may have hearing loss after this book. A sound engineer would have made all the difference. I may go deaf but this book is worth the pain in my ears. Avoid ear pods if you can.

Historia
Clare Cosi used to manage the historic Village Blend coffeehouse…until she opted for quieter pastures and a more suburban life. But after ten years and a little friendly cajoling from the owner (a fresh pot of Jamaican Blue Mountain was all it took), she's back to the grind. With a sprawling rent-free apartment directly above the Village Blend, her cat Java by her side, and plenty of coffeehouse redecorating ideas, Clare is thrilled to return to work. Until she discovers the assistant manager unconscious in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere.

I love a good cup of coffee but...
Revisado: 10-25-23
I expected more from this book but it was lacking substance and character development. It was more about the coffee than anything else. Felt like more of a coffee appreciation guide than a murder mystery. Loved the narrator, just not the book. Im going to try another book further in the series in hopes that it will deliver more than a cup of boring coffee.

Too much "baby". It's getting irritating.
Revisado: 05-08-23
Don't get me wrong, I really do like the series, but I think I need a little break from Jack and the old fashioned sexist talking. Would it kill him to use her name instead of baby once in a while? The first three books were awesome, but this one seemed to irritate me. I like the narrator, but I'm going to take a break and continue the series later; I hope it helps rekindle the interest. If not, I may read instead. I just have to get that irritating voice out my head.

Better than the last, but barely
Revisado: 02-17-23
The male narrator was offputting and so monotone, but even worse than that was the book itself. There was more descriptive romance than plot. How much can you describe a kiss? Where was the substance? The end of the book was the most disappointing. Totally throwing away the ending like the writer was told to hurry up and finish because dinner was getting cold. Im still hoping this series gets back to the excitement of the first few books... fingers crossed.

Great series...Disappointing book
Revisado: 02-09-23
I have been enjoying the series but this book was so dull and whiney. I felt sorry for the poor narrator who had to read the part of the whiney pathetic protagonist. The constant complaining and crying was too much to stand and it would have been a lower rating, but the ending delivered so I will try the next book to see if it's any better. Eden is my least favorite character after this book and not looking forward to hearing anything more from her.

Nice way to wrap up the series. Loved it.
Revisado: 01-27-23
I enjoyed the series but really struggled with the horribly fake and overacted British accent of Mr. Ochlan. It was cringy and uncomfortable to listen to. Of course Erin Moon did a fantastic job and the writing was brilliant.
