Physic connection

I'll start by saying I met this author at a Holiday Craft show in Ohio a year ago. She had recently published this book and was selling this and another book at the show. I purchased both for a gift for my daughter. When I found the audible version available and was able to get a free book in exchange for a review, I took the chance. This type of book is different from my normal reading, and at first I wasn't sure if I would like it. As I read more, I became more invested in the characters. The authors reading style is good - unlike some authors who attempt to read their own books!

There is a connection between the "hero" and "heroine", and at first the Grace is unaware of that David can read her thoughts. In a world of physic connections, this can be a good thing - or a bad one.

This was the first of the Hetta Coffey series books that I have read/heard. It wasn't too hard to catch on to the dynamics of the friends in the series, but I'm sure it would have been easier to have begun with the first book in the series. This did have a finished ending - no real cliff hanger, so that was good. The narration was just "okay"...I've had some narrators that I had to turn off and never finish listening - this was definitely NOT in that category. But neither was it seamless to listen to. Sometimes the narrator "forgot" mid sentence which accent she was using for which character. The Mexican boyfriend sometimes sounded like the Japanese diver. The narrator also sounded at times like she was reading from a book - I get it, she IS reading. But a truly wonderful narrator sounds like they are recounting a wonderful story, not reading it. Over all, I did enjoy this book and will probably listen to more in the series.

Would you try another book from Alyssa Bailey and/or Logan McAllister?

I was looking forward to a book delving into a relationship with strong characters, but found them to be very one dimensional. I was a bit disappointed.

Would you recommend Accepting His Ways to your friends? Why or why not?

For free, and if you have nothing else to listen to - maybe. But there is so much better out there!!

Would you try another book from Elise Sax and/or Angie Hickman?

I enjoy listening to books, especially on my drive to and from work (roughly 25 min drive each way). With the additional listening time at lunch break, this book was finished in 2 days! **contains spoilers!** The entire story took place over less than a month time span - from heroine meeting hero, marrying, separating, and reuniting. While I don't listen to romance books for reality, this is a little too hard to believe.

Would you recommend Hot Wired to your friends? Why or why not?

For free - maybe. I wouldn't use an audible credit for it.

What about Angie Hickman’s performance did you like?

Her voice matched the character.

Do you think Hot Wired needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Characters could be fleshed out - so, yes, a followup could be possible.

Yes - a quick "read", light hearted with a bit of a twist.

It was a nice, clean romance.

I received a free copy of this book and provided a voluntary review. While I may not have used a credit for this book, it would definitely worth a "bargain bin". If it were a longer book, it would have been worth a full credit!

If you could sum up Man Candy in three words, what would they be?

This is a short story, worth the time to "read"/listen to. The heroine is blinded by her childhood crush not able to see the terrific guy in front of her. I did think the hero's wrestling scene was a bit too unbelievable, but overall I really enjoyed this book!
