The captain, Jack and his doctor friend Steven I’ve gotten to know better than my brother and although I’ve only been in a small sailing boat once I feel at home sailing the seas in the 1700’s as I did in my former family cabin in Wisconsin.

The inspirational story and the performance was near perfect. Even though I had seen the movie I was spellbound to only permit myself brief interruptions to revisit this special story. Dramatic moving details developing until its remarkable conclusion. A story that reinforces the Holy Spirit in an artfully provocative narrative. Spiritually satisfying and very enjoyable.

Superlative and enjoyable. How amazing to feel present with sensory awareness of place and moment personalities and gestalt of narratives lived by seafaring folks of the sailing ships era.

Optimistic but maybe too short and focused. Might be richer with additional life situations, dramas, or protagonists. Voices are sexy and relatable. Music might be problematic and welcome enhancement maybe even relating mentioning of music in the public domain.

Gareth’s biography is a notably compelling reveal of himself in a star rugby players’ journey to succeed in life itself as a feeling conscious alpha male who happens to be gay. A leader as a rugby captain and a leader sharing personal struggles to know and love himself as a gay man with support from family teammates friends and a male partner Eon. A diligent insightful and humbling search for honesty and personal humanity. J W.

In addition to a marvelous plot with carefully orchestrated details, Penny’s ‘A trick of light’ is a smorgasbord of insights about art and artists’ work that I haven’t seen explained any better. As a visual artist and former art teacher I can only imagine Louise Penny as an insightful artist in other media besides prose.

The ‘Madness of Crowds’ is an intricate puzzle of detailed characters and plot that had me weeping in amazement at Penny’s exciting conclusion. So much more than a mystery, Louise Penny’s insights of humanity and our flaws offer reflections that we only get in the company of good long time friends and ourselves as well. I can’t wait to read it again.
