Historia
Harriet Jacobs’ autobiography, written under the pseudonym Linda Brent, details her experiences as a slave in North Carolina, her escape to freedom in the north, and her ensuing struggles to free her children. The narrative was partly serialized in the New York Tribune, but was discontinued because Jacobs’ depictions of the sexual abuse of female slaves were considered too shocking. It was published in book form in 1861.

Historia
Since Grandpa died, Dally’s days are dull and restricted. She’s eleven and a half years old, and her exacting single mother is already preparing her to take over the family business. Starved for adventure and release, Dally rescues a mysterious envelope from her mother’s clutches, an envelope Grandpa had earmarked for her. The map she finds inside leads straight to an ancient vault, a library of secrets where each book is a portal to a precise moment in time. As Dally “checks out” adventure after adventure she begins to dive deep into her family’s hidden history.

Dally is dope
Revisado: 09-20-24
Dally is such a soulful character. Her personality shines through and her connection to her family and realization of life is amazing. I had a similar story I wrote, and now I have to change the chest from being in the library when they go back in time. However this was an awesome story for all readers.

Good text. Gave me a lot of ah ha moments about the relationship I have with my mother and the one I plan to build with my children. It also gave me more insight into me, because understanding these type of things on the outside of me helps me better adjust, react and feel with in and around myself.

I enjoyed the listen. I listened while listening to my hz sounds. It’s a great voice to listen to when listening to this subject. The information was so realistic and on point I knew they weren’t hiding too much.
