Historia
After years of avoiding each other, Daisy Darker’s entire family is assembling for Nana’s 80th birthday party in Nana’s crumbling gothic house on a tiny tidal island. Finally back together one last time, when the tide comes in, they will be cut off from the rest of the world for eight hours. The family arrives, each of them harboring secrets. I hated the ending
Revisado: 12-15-22
Well written and the plot is gripping until the end which I assume was shocking. Oh yes, I was surprised but not in a good way.
I haven't felt this way since I read Behind Her Eyes. This is an insulting way to end a good book.

Historia
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

Historia
The Beginning After the End: Publisher's Pack 2 contains books 3 and 4 of The Beginning After the End series, Beckoning Fates and Horizon's Edge. Though Arthur Leywin would like nothing more than to pursue his studies at the esteemed Xyrus Academy, where he hopes to push his already potent magical abilities to new plateaus and perhaps discover something more about his reincarnation into this world, he finds the politics of the school’s halls even more challenging to navigate than those of the council chambers he once inhabited as King Grey.

First Book was very good not so for this #2
Revisado: 05-04-20
I really like the story line and can relate to a lot of the players in this series. Yes I wanted to see the story play out. But I would not have purchased this second in the series had I known it would end on a cliff hanger. Waiting for the next book is a problem. So to finish this tale I will wait for it to complete before I invest any more of time and money. No problems with the Narrator he was really quite good. lol but I am still mad at the ending it was very abrupt .

Disturbing descriptions of very gritty story
Revisado: 08-16-19
I did finish this Book but found I needed to fast forward through almost all of the disgusting descriptions of body decay and nasty ally ways filled with dead rats and used condoms. Not to mention the descriptions of some of the character"s physical attributes. Would I read it again NO. But I did want to see how it ended to see if I knew who most of the villains were and I did.
So good story but way to gritty for me to just enjoy. Not for the sensitive stomach turning type of reader which I seem to be.
It does not give a kind look at Scotland's police or the city of Aberdeen. So be warned read at your own risk.

Really unbelievable child like wife.
Revisado: 01-25-19
Narcissist meets sociopath oh wait which one is which. I could not put up with the wife for almost half of the book so back it went. If you can suspend your disbelief for the whole book than you will like this book. If you want to read about believable people and how they cope this book is not for you. Arlene a Audible reader .

Disappointed read for this K.S, fan
Revisado: 01-06-19
I started liking the idea of the story and the first chapters were good but somewhere along the way I found that I disliked both of the females that the story was about. I just could not get into it and skimmed quite a bit. The author wrote two long final chapters to neatly tie up a very unlikely story. Just my opinion and I am sure others will find things to like and enjoy in this book. I was going to return the book but I did read the end so I just filed it away. I will continue to read Karin Slaughter hoping the next book will be my cup of tea. from Arlene one person's view.

Caught up by Catch Me
Revisado: 09-21-18
This was a fun listen with an entertaining storyline. There were two main characters trying to figure out 2 passed cases.
Lots of plot twists and police action and too much information about the 911 call-in system. Also, a dog is part of the plot and this time it ended well for the pet. I hate when authors make you care about a pet in the story and something bad happens to the poor thing. Just to underline that a psychopath is in the story. Worth a credit YES and good Narration by Kirsten Potter. The story was over 13 hours so it kept me entertained most of the time. Lisa Gardner is a really good writer and I will keep on listening to her novels.

I Felt cheated at the ending.
Revisado: 09-08-18
All I can say is that the author writes very well and tells a interesting story. All the characters are well drawn but the ending was one with a twist that I could not believe in. That being said I ended up feeling cheated with a far-fetched ending . I felt angry instead of satisfied after finishing a good listen.

Very well written But a sad story about aging.
Revisado: 09-04-18
Sorry to say that this beautifully written book is about old age and the view of it was more than depressing. Not really a mystery just a story of how time and age and how it takes it's toll. The ending is sad and does tie up the ends nicely. I would not read this again and feel I must warn anyone who is sensitive about this topic. I am sorry I used a credit and will ask for it back.

Historia
Kim Lord is an avant garde figure, feminist icon, and agent provocateur in the LA art scene. Her groundbreaking new exhibition, Still Lives, is comprised of self-portraits depicting herself as famous murdered women - the Black Dahlia, Chandra Levy, Nicole Brown Simpson, among many others - and the works are as compelling as they are disturbing, implicating a culture that is too accustomed to violence against women.

Still Lives a deep and involved mystery.
Revisado: 09-02-18
This was a very slow and complicated mystery. The group of players were diverse with a very involved back story But when you get to the point where you see what the author is getting at it becomes a interesting look at these peoples lives and the impact of a crime and its aftermath. Well written and Narrated flawlessly by Tavia Gilbert. Worth a credit YES
