Historia
On holiday in the North Devon countryside, Neil Langton looks back on the wreckage of his past. He has come to believe that all happiness is behind him; the wounds from his former marriage - in which his wife cheated on him and his young daughter died - are still raw. While rock-climbing, he meets Ellen, a young woman whom he saves from a mountainside accident. Ellen, too, is looking to escape her painful past, struggling to deal with her feelings for the man she loved - a pilot who died in service.

much more than the cover suggests
Revisado: 12-19-21
this story is a sophisticated commentary on relationships, sexual conventions and divorce in immediate post-war England. the drama sputters a bit in the last chapter to make a happy ending, but romance feels genuine.

Historia
Bernard Cornwell, the New York Times best-selling "reigning king of historical fiction" (USA Today), tackles his most thrilling, rich, and enthralling subject yet - the heroic tale of Agincourt. The epic battle immortalized by William Shakespeare in his classic Henry V is the background for this breathtaking tale of heroism, love, devotion, and duty from the legendary author of the Richard Sharpe novels and the Saxon Tales.

Will return it if I can
Revisado: 10-08-21
I picked this title up on a 2for1 sale, so I don't know if I will be able to return it. I might enjoy the story in written form, but the long musical passages and the overly dramatic narration are not what I listen to books for. There should have been some sort of warning in the product description about the music. It goes on and on, very loudly. Other reviewers have mentioned it as well but I somehow overlooked that when I ordered it.
