I found this all to be applicable to my life and it was thought provoking on principles of scripture. I especially liked the southern gentleman narrator!

Historia
Area X has been cut off from the rest of the continent for decades. Nature has reclaimed the last vestiges of human civilization. The first expedition returned with reports of a pristine, Edenic landscape; all the members of the second expedition committed suicide; the third expedition died in a hail of gunfire as its members turned on one another; the members of the eleventh expedition returned as shadows of their former selves, and within months of their return, all had died of aggressive cancer.

I listened to all of it and hope the second book explains things better and has things like climaxes and a story that makes sense.

Historia
Fourteen-year-old Greg Dixon is living a nightmare. Attending boarding school outside of Boston, he is separated from his family when a pandemic strikes. His classmates and teachers are dead, rotting in a dormitory-turned-morgue steps from his room. The nights are getting colder, and his food has run out. The last message from his father is to get away from the city and to meet at his grandparents' town in remote New Hampshire.

narrator Scott Brick is awesome. this story however was not very good or even believable. in this story, there are no gay people. everyone gets along just fine and everyone has the same exact sense of humor and everything just works out great but the story just ends abruptly with everything still being just fine. I could not tell very much about the climax or plot other than everybody gets along just great. there is nobody there that has any kind of health problems. There are no children with autism or ADHD. nobody gets shot, other than the initial virus everybody just lives with no problems. the pilot is very old and always tired. I didn't expect the book the end when it did but I was glad it did.
