Good story, kept me engaged. Small gripe, there is no selector on a 1911.

The starship Earthling, filled with thousands of hibernating colonists en route to a new world at Tau Ceti, is stranded beyond the solar system when the ship's three organic mental cores—disembodied human brains that control the vessel's functions—go insane. The emergency skeleton crew sees only one chance for survival: build an artificial consciousness in the Earthling's primary computer that can guide them to their destination—and hope it doesn't destroy the human race.

Boring!
Revisado: 07-02-23
Bored me after 10 chapters. No end in sight! Just a bunch of stoner physiological Bravo Sierra! I expected more action not endless yammering. Of course another reader my like it, I did not.

Problems
Revisado: 04-30-23
Some glaring errors in the story, specifically about the US Navy. Aircraft carriers do not sail without escorts. There are destroyers and cruisers etc traveling with them for protection. The Navy does not have soldiers, it has sailors and marines. It is highly unlikely that an aircraft carrier could be sunk as described, in the past they have been hit with 500 pound bombs and remained afloat. As for the jump jet, there is no room for 3 people and it has a combat radius of 300 n miles so I doubt it could make it to the middle east. Lots of problems with this storyline.

Got bored
Revisado: 02-24-23
The story line too much like his first book. Child in danger, parent suspected, over the top agent determined to convict wrong person, etc. Does this author have any new ideas? I don't know but if I see another of his books I will scrutinize the description before downloading it.

Good thing they made a movie of this story because this narrator is so bad. This is the second book he has narrated and I can't get passed the first chapter without getting bored and losing interest.

Historia
When ex-cop Matt Scudder thought back on the summer of '75, two faces emerged from behind the smoky haze of a half dozen boozy saloons that made up his beat - Skip Devoe and Tommy Tillary - two bar flies he wouldn't have given a second thought to in the bright light of day. Yet they and their troubles were the reason that moved him a little farther out of the bleary-eyed mess that had become his life.

Lost intrest
Revisado: 02-09-23
Lost interest and unable to finish. This narrator's delivery put me to sleep. Seems to be a rehash of back ground that has already covered in previous books. In a word, boring, at least for me.

Ok until...
Revisado: 03-12-22
It started out ok until the alien spaceship and monsters entered the story. I finished even though it got tedious with rehashing of the story line and endless cliches. I expected an action thriller, not a fantasy. I've listened to this narrator before and he is good.
