As an LDS mother of 10 kids, you would think this wouldn't be on my read list. After reading the reviews and the overview, I decided to give it a try. I admit this isn't one I listen to with my kids or grandkids in the car. A sailor would truly blush. However, this is worth reading. It gives a perspective on humor that everyone (adults, anyway.... definitely adult language) should read. Or at least read the reviews. Thanks, Kat, for sharing exactly what we should all hear. It was laugh out loud funny, and the world can definitely use a LOT more humor. About irreverent things. If you are desperate to hear how to heal, laughter really is the best medicine.

Exciting Clean Romantic Adventure

What made the experience of listening to A Change of Plans the most enjoyable?

The narrator did a great job of distinguishing characters with her voice changes.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed in a couple of spots and cried in others.

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job, and it was easy to tell who was speaking. At first, this felt like a sweet romance, which I don’t really like, but it soon turned to a much more exciting read. There were a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t expect, and I loved the happily-ever-after ending. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Fun, Clean, and Perky

What made the experience of listening to My Own Mr. Darcy the most enjoyable?

Normally, I prefer to curl up with my books, and I have the ebook version, so I very well could have. My commute to work needed something other than the same music, so I decided to add the audible version to my ride. I confess that after hearing Heidi read, it was a different experience. I wanted to hear her voice when I experienced the story. I read a chapter on my ebook, but it just wasn't the same. She added so much to the story that I wanted to hear her voice finish it for me. She had a voice that exactly matched what I imagined Elizabeth to sound like. This is a clean, sweet romance.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the quirky main character, Elizabeth, and Chad, of course.

Which character – as performed by Heidi Baker – was your favorite?

Elizabeth

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I chuckled at some spots and wanted to shake Elizabeth sometimes and yell "What are you thinking??" We all can have our blind spots, and she certainly had hers.

What does Dave Wright bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved his reading of the historical references. His southern accent was perfect for the topic.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from History Lover's Cookbook?

Tidbits of history I didn't know made the Civil War come to life.

Any additional comments?

Since I have the ebook version, I was listening more for the history than for the recipes. For anyone who is an audio learner rather than a visual one, this is a great tool to help history come alive.
