Historia
Morocco, 1941. With France having fallen to Nazi occupation, twelve-year-old Josie has fled with her family to Casablanca, where they await safe passage to America. Life here is as intense as the sun, every sight, smell and sound overwhelming to the senses in a city filled with extraordinary characters. It’s a world away from the trouble back home—and Josie loves it. Seventy years later, another new arrival in the intoxicating port city, Zoe, is struggling—with her marriage, her baby daughter and her new life as an expat in an unfamiliar place.

Such a beautiful story ❤️
Revisado: 04-07-23
First I would like to say that the Narrator was amazing. Her ability to transport you into the story allows you to feel the joy, fear, sadness and love. This story is about losing yourself and also how each of us can heal yourselves. I know this is fiction, but I have no doubt but at the same time so many accurate accounts of what also happened in Casablanca. Please read and allow the story to capture you in the essence of the possible.

Intriguing Story
Revisado: 11-09-22
Love the narrator throughout this series. The mysteries are very intriguing but I find myself frustrated at the continous struggle between the main characters. It was time for this to come to a head and resolve itself.

Revisado: 10-14-22
This book series was recommended to me and so glad I decided to begin this series. Twists and turns that kept you wanting to listen more and more. Even sat in driveway when I got home to listen to the end of the chapter. Excited to start on book 2. Here we go.

This book really pulled you in to the story. The author developed the characters so you were able to feel as if you knew them intimately and fighting with them every step of the way. You will not be disappointed and will be recommending to others yourself also.

The performance absorbed me from the very beginning. I found I did not want to get out of the car because I just wanted to stay in the moment. Such a nice book. You are able to relax and are left with a great feeling and respecting the characters.

Historia
A hilarious and emotional personal account of the life, times, mistakes, and crippling codependence of comedian, producer, director, actress, and writer Whitney Cummings. Full of intellect, pathos, and profundity, I'm Fine...and Other Lies is, in Whitney's words, her first book, which means her last date. With her signature incendiary edge and self-deprecation, Whitney comes clean about what has shaped her into the trailblazing comic that she is today.

Historia
Meet Harold Fry, recently retired. He lives in a small English village with his wife, Maureen, who seems irritated by almost everything he does, even down to how he butters his toast. Little differentiates one day from the next. Then one morning the mail arrives, and within the stack of quotidian minutiae is a letter addressed to Harold in a shaky scrawl from a woman he hasn’t seen or heard from in twenty years. Queenie Hennessy is in hospice and is writing to say goodbye.

Such a moving story. I highly recommend
Revisado: 10-25-19
This was a very memorable book. I found myself looking at myself and my husband with a magnifying glass. Our relationship, what we have been through together, what has distanced us in our relationship over time and our triumphs together. I will warn you that there are times that I needed the Kleenex box but I am so glad that I listened to this book. There are so many messages within about forgiving, valuing and seeing our surroundings for their true value and not what we put on them in our very busy lives. I will be having my mother listen next as I know that she will feel the same and will look at her marriage differently and with even more appreciation for what her and my father have shared through their struggles and their successes. This book allows you to see that we are all human and we all carry our burdens within. It is ok to have them and it is ok to forgive ourselves and each other. Please listen and enjoy.

Historia
Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.
