Philosophers love to pose such questions, and in the day-to-day struggle, such thinkers rarely attain to a level of relevance rivaling that of the simple hunger pang. Their careful considerations dissipate under the leveled gun. We do not feel their disapproving gaze when The Others draw near. When the world sends doom, the survivors do not hesitate. The survivors do what is necessary.

too many cooks

the story doesn't feel focused. there are too many characters for you to care about within the two groups. all of the schemes and interpersonal issues get annoying. everyone has a backstory. everyone has motivation, but it's not presented in a way that makes you care. the book feels bloated and unfocused. maybe it would be more interesting as a show, but this medium feels wasted. could be due to the author having to split the books into two. next time, please just release a shorter story instead.
