Vile - sex & violence were needlessly gratuitous.

Sex & violence were needlessly overdone, distracting more than advancing the plot. The writing or narrator’s cadence during some parts was very distracting. It was odd.

I loved the whole series

It’s amazing how J.K. Rowling writes. It sucks you in and before you know it, you find yourself hating to pause it. 10/10. Amazing.

It is a beautiful book and is full of imagination. By the way I am an 8 year old and my opinion is of absolutely no importance at all but anyway I love the book I listen to it almost every night Jim dale is absolutely amazing when it comes to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. To make it short: LOVE IT!!

Clay humorously hounds the foe outrage industry.

As a regular Out Kick listener, I hesitated to buy this book because I feared it would be a repeat of what I already heard live daily. I was pleasantly surprised that there were many new gems in addition to many more lucid deep dives into some well worn topics.

If you already like Clay, this book is like finding an old favorite pair of jeans or comfortable shoes you has forgotten about over the summer. If you have never heard experienced Mr. Travis, try to reserve judgement until the end and enjoy the ride. Even if you disagree, Clay Travis is is more an intellectual than shock jock but does not take himself too seriously.

Tolkien fan

There is a two sided debate: 1 Brooks rips off Tolkien vs 2 imitation is the greatest flattery. I loved this series in high school before reading the original Tolkien later in life. Listening to Brooks series now, is extremely irritating. He didn’t just imitate and “borrow”. Brooks mirrored 75% of key characters and plot points. Apparently as a non-practicing lawyer, Brooke figured out how to rewrite Tolkien legally, but we don’t have to be impressed by it. Imitation is flattering but theft is theft.

Brooks is easier to read for younger readers but it is also dumbed down. His descriptions are thin and repetitive. It’s easy to say that Tolkien founded the epic fantasy genre and claim Brooks’ Tolkien imitation commercially reinvigorated the genre in the 70’s... That may be so, but Brooks should be sharing royalties with the Tolkien estate.
