Historia
It was the best of times and the worst of times for Hollywood before the war. The box office was booming, and the studios’ control of talent and distribution was as airtight as could be hoped. But the industry’s relationship with Washington was decidedly uneasy - hearings and investigations into allegations of corruption and racketeering were multiplying, and hanging in the air was the insinuation that the business was too foreign, too Jewish, too "un-American" in its values and causes. Could an industry this powerful in shaping America’s mind-set really be left in the hands of this crew?

See him? That little tramp twitching a postage stamp of a mustache, politely lifting his bowler hat, and leaning on a bamboo cane with the confidence of a gentleman? A slapstick comedian, he blazed forth as the brightest movie star in the Hollywood heavens. Everyone knew Charlie - Charlie Chaplin.

not impressed
Revisado: 12-21-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
ya, how about an ending!!!
Would you recommend A Dance with Dragons to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes but only because I have a sense of humor … and want to here about there feelings on the non ending ending.
Which scene was your favorite?
My guess is HBO will write my favorite scene, this book jumps all over the place with no sceans even reaching a mini conclusion on its many ongoing mini events. Why it was called dance with dragons is another mystery hinted at but not in the story as told.
Was A Dance with Dragons worth the listening time?
not really, to many words, to little story
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the earlier books in this series… not this one.

Historia
Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

as good as steven king gets
Revisado: 09-30-13
What made the experience of listening to Doctor Sleep the most enjoyable?
This book was worth waiting for.. It was a rare fiction audio book I stayed with until it ended without putting it away for the next day. The reader helped make it come alive.
What other book might you compare Doctor Sleep to and why?
what a loaded question...
Which character – as performed by Will Patton – was your favorite?
perhaps the old man..billy... but he was a good choice for this book and did them all well.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
no
Any additional comments?
I'm surprised others rated it low, not that I watch TV but this looks like the next steven king mini series

Historia
Something scary is happening to boys today. From kindergarten to college, they are less resilient and less ambitious than they were a mere 20 years ago. Fully one-third of men ages 22 to 34 are still living at home with their parents, about a 100 percent increase in the past 20 years. Boys nationwide are increasingly dropping out of school; fewer are going to college. Family physician and research psychologist Dr. Leonard Sax presents practical solutions.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I do not bother to rate many books but this one should be on your short list of books to read/listen to. If you have kids on the top of that list.
