Historia
When Lady Margaret Blake and her sister lose their parents in a boating accident, they are left to the guardianship of their uncle. Disregarding their feelings for the price their beauty will fetch on the Marriage Mart, he arranges a match for both. Lady Margaret, however, takes her fate into her own hands. Returning home after war to assume his responsibilities, Luke, Duke of Waverley, expects a nice, quiet life on his country estate. Within hours of stepping foot in England, though, he stumbles upon a young woman being attacked, and no sooner does he rescue her than she runs away.

Honor in abundance
Revisado: 03-19-25
I really enjoyed how honor becomes both good and bad and sets the tension for this story.

Historia
The London Countryside, 1820. Eleanora Coventry comes from a life of title and privilege, but even that isn’t enough to prevent her from being wed at sixteen to a controlling and dismissive husband. So when she finds herself a widow at only twenty-seven, the idea of choosing her own path forward both thrills and terrifies her. She knows how to be a daughter and a wife and mother, but she has no idea how to be Eleanora. She moves her son and daughter to her late husband’s country estate, where she meets Ridley, the young stable master.

I ached at the situation of the main character and loved the growth and change in both her and her situation.

Loved the ups and downs and twists of this story. It’s angst and romance and hopes as well as troubles.

Takes me into a world not many see
Revisado: 01-16-25
I loved how an unseen girl with a hard life truly sees an angry boy and opens him up without really knowing she is doing it. I loved that we get so involved in their relationship but then it disappears and we don’t know what will come.
