“I Am a Fan” by Sheena Patel is a whirlwind of chaos from start to finish. Reading it felt like listening to a friend unload their life’s drama over brunch—raw, unfiltered, and intensely personal. While I appreciated the conversational tone and the emotional honesty, I often found myself wanting to grab the protagonist by the shoulders and yell, “Get it together!” The fragmented storytelling style made it a bit challenging to follow, and I struggled to fully connect with the narrative. That said, it does capture the messy complexity of relationships and self-destruction in a way that’s relatable, even if frustrating. Overall, it was an interesting read, but not one I’d revisit.”

As an ambivert, High Impact at Low Decibels offered me a profound perspective on understanding and appreciating the introverted approach to leadership and communication. Mike Schiller’s insights have not only deepened my empathy for introverts but also provided me with practical strategies to tackle one of the most self-conscious aspects of my professional growth: public speaking.

The book’s emphasis on creating a personalized toolkit resonated deeply with me. It encouraged me to curate methods for relaxation and preparation, helping me approach public speaking with greater confidence and clarity. Mike’s thoughtful guidance has transformed an intimidating challenge into a manageable and even rewarding aspect of my career development.

This is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to amplify their presence without compromising their authenticity. I highly recommend it to those who seek to balance introspection with impact in both personal and professional settings.

David Grann’s Killers of the Flower Moon is a profoundly moving and meticulously researched account of the Osage murders—a horrifying and nearly forgotten chapter of American history. The audiobook, narrated with a tone of urgency and respect, immerses listeners in the tension and tragedy of the 1920s Osage Nation, where unimaginable wealth from oil deposits led to a wave of exploitation, violence, and betrayal. Hearing this story unfolds in spoken form emphasizes the heartbreaking fear the Osage lived with, as well as the indifference—even complicity—of government authorities who failed to protect them.

The narration powerfully captures Grann’s compassionate prose, making the strength and resilience of the Osage descendants all the more striking. Their perseverance through generations of trauma is inspiring and reminds us of the ongoing impact of injustice. This audiobook is essential listening for those interested in Indigenous history, justice, and the often-overlooked dark corners of America’s past.
