Ok, but could have been better, too scholarly.

Learn what charity is and be charitable. That’s the Golden Rule.
You’ll have a lot better chance to do that in a capitalist country than a socialist country. A Catholic would better better off not having anything to do with socialism.
And remember:
-no form of earthly government is flawless
-a government’s role should not be to impose on the people it governs demands to be charitable
-this world is not our own

It was first published on September 30, 1898, a year to the day after her death from tuberculosis at the age of 24, on September 30, 1897. The book was a single volume formed from three distinct manuscripts - manuscripts of different length, written at different times, addressed to different people, and differing from one another in character. The work of unifying these disparate manuscripts was carried out by Pauline, the sister of Thérèse.

The author does a nice job describing Catholic Christian beliefs concerning Mary, Mother of God, and defending them against most of the more common attacks, The author demonstrates how so-called ‘un-biblical’, ‘controversial’ positions held by the Catholic Church are founded on Old Testament scriptures and widely (e.g., universally ) embraced traditions of the early Church. You may not believe what the Catholic Christian Church believes about Mary because of things you’ve learned or heard. The author’s clear, concise reasons for these beliefs are shared in ways that are open, kind, educational, and engaging.
