I cannot say this about many books I have enjoyed.... i liked this story 37 years ago when I first read it, and still enjoy it today. 8-)

Just like I said in my headline, encountering this story again is such a pleasure! It feels like a fun but scary vacation; It takes me away from the tension and anger of today and delivers me into a world of adventure, exploration, mystery, friendship, doubt and resolution.
~
With a dash of humor, and a meaty main dish of anticipated conflict and battles... I enjoy it on a deeper level now, and while I am drawn into it I cannot help but be amazed by how well it captures my imagination. Leaving me to wonder... if Einstein was in my circle of friends... how much richer my life could be? If my childhood dog had been more like him....?

This story draws me in deep and spits me out again at the end... and I want to dive right back in. 8-)

This world that Dean created is one I love to disappear into: It is familiar yet not completely remembered, I like the hero's I meet and cheer their success, despise the villain, cringe at the rising tension and sigh with relief at the end. What a terrific journey!

30 years later I still love this book

I enjoyed this book immensely as a teen, and now in my fifties I still do: an intriguing story enhanced by some mystery and fantasy.
