The wait was worth every minute!
Revisado: 10-13-23
I absolutely loved it. I was torn between just stayuling awake and listening thru, and savoring every chapter.
I decided to stretch it over a few days. I just hope that the magnificant author doesn't let us wait too long with the sequel. Narration was impeccable.
Loved the ending. Can't wait for more! Thank you!

Another great Orphan X installment
Revisado: 02-20-23
I love the orphan X series. The first one I bought by mistake and couldn't put it down.
I listened to all the available books at the time and now I eagerly await each new adventure.
Scott Brick is phenomenal, as always. Hell, I've bought audio books based on just the fact that he narrated them :)

Historia
Kitty Underhay is looking forward to a week of long lunches and wedding planning with her husband-to-be, Captain Matthew Bryant. But the plan is derailed when he is called on to collect a former comrade-in-arms, arriving on the 15:50 from Paddington. As the train bearing Simon Travers pulls up to the platform, a piercing scream rises over the screech of its brakes. Travers is dead in his seat, a dagger in his heart. Only a few individuals had access to Travers’s compartment, and Kitty must find out which of these seemingly benign passengers is, in fact, a cross-country killer.

I can't get over the bad grammar and flat emotions
Revisado: 10-02-22
The story is not bad, but I just can't get over the author's grammar errors. Is there no editor to retail priced books? It is disgraceful.
The storyline is good. The emotions between the characters is non existent, might as well have left them to be friends. And not just romantic emotions, all characters show no emotions. Not a series that I would recommend. I will also not purchase future books, but if I've got nothing in the queue, I would look for the sequel in the library archives, where it won't cost me a credit.

Enjoyed every long minute of it
Revisado: 09-12-22
Like many others, I've been impatiently awaiting the new book in series. I love Strike and Robin.
I didn't mind the @ mentions and I think it's actually good for people to realize how the cyber world impacts today's youth and adults.
It was a tad lengthy, but I didn't mind.
Lots of plot twists to keep one on their toes.
Spoiler:
I really really really wished they'd find to one another, after five years. A bit disappointed with that, especially because we will go into the next book hearing about Robin's date with Murphy. I feel it was her turn.

This is a book for teenagers
Revisado: 09-06-22
What the author says (or drags out into a book) is something we hopefully all figured out by the age of 30. I can see this book being useful to a younger audience, alas, they won't pay attention to it. A lot of examples were unnecessary and I felt at times that the information was contradicting. As the book goes on, it gets worse. At some point I felt the author urges us to become robots with a schedule to follow. Just shy of potty break schedule.
I don't want my money back. I want back the five hours of my time.

So disappointing
Revisado: 01-13-22
I was looking forward to a new Scarpetta book so much.
The narrator was horrible, but I accelerated it to 1.50 and was able to listen to the rest of the book.
I'm still wondering what happened to the end of the book. It's like the author decided to finish, in the middle of the book. Instead of, end of part one or something, it just ended. This was horrible. Don't waste your time.
I was looking forward to Dr Scarpetta and that's not what this book delivered.

I loved every minute of the book.
Yes I would have liked the alternative ending as well, bug this makes it wonderful.
The narration is exceptional, even though I listened at 1.3 speed and it felt just perfect at that.
To people who complained about physics or inability to learn a language that quickly, relax, it's a novel. Enjoy it.
Great, great, great book! <3

Revisado: 06-02-21
I truly enjoy all of Ms. Rosett's books in this series and can't wait to read more of Olive's and Jasper's adventures.
It's an easy read, wonderful narration and just enough twists. I love the added romance. A satisfaction of a closed case and a smile for reading about happiness.

Historia
Marvellously atmospheric tale of strangers summoned to a grand but neglected villa on the Italian coast. Each of them has been named in a will, but nobody knows their benefactress.... Four very different people are named in a will. Delia, an opera singer robbed of her voice by illness; George, an idealistic scientist who cannot face what his skills have created; Marjorie, desperately poor and unable to dislodge her writer’s block; and Lucius, ostensibly in control but whose personal life is in chaos.

I really didn't want it to end.
Wonderfully described, a story with twists and turns. I really enjoyed listening to it.
The narrator was fantastic as well.
It's very sad that we won't have more books by Elizabeth Edmondson.

Inspector Treadles, Charlotte Holmes’ friend and collaborator, has been found locked in a room with two dead men, both of whom worked with his wife at the great manufacturing enterprise she has recently inherited. Rumors fly. Had Inspector Treadles killed the men because they had opposed his wife’s initiatives at every turn? Had he killed in a fit of jealous rage because he suspected Mrs. Treadles of harboring deeper feelings for one of the men? To make matters worse, he refuses to speak on his own behalf, despite the overwhelming evidence against him.

I hope the relationship between the Lady Sherlock and Lord Ingram evolves some more. We live in a sad world, a little fiction romance tangled with a mystery is beautiful.
