Everyone said to read
Revisado: 03-24-24
I had several friends say I needed to read this book. One year later, and I can’t believe I didn’t read it sooner. They were right! It’s excellent. I bought two more of her books before I finished this one.

Yay for supporting women
Revisado: 09-06-23
While there are some tricky moments in this book, it seems to be about how to be human beings and how to treat one another. We need more like Jasmine. But all of these women have brains and gumption. And know how to support when needed.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Follow Dr. Carver Benton as he explores his only wish: to have the signers of the Constitution shore up the words that future legislators have manipulated away from their original intent. Is this possible? It is, for a team of scientists and historians when they bring a handful of our nation's builders to the year 2025 by secretly creating the world's most dangerous tool: time travel.

So much potential
Revisado: 06-30-23
The premise is fantastic. If those who signed the constitution could see how it was interpreted, and misused, 250 years later, would they change it. It was great that the book does address the butterfly effect. Still, what could happen to gun control, race, poverty, etc. instead, it seems this book was written for ill informed privileged. The biggest problem being there was no human side to….anything. There are 5 main scientists. We’re never told who they are past their name and basic education background. No idea how they came together. Why were they picked for this time travel project. In the end, we do see that their dedicated to the doctor and seemingly will follow him anywhere. The social issues are not researched to include the human side. There are also passive aggressive comments concerning things like global warming and coffee shops that come out of nowhere. The sad part is even the 5 from history are not researched well. It becomes disturbing (or almost comical) when the outrage over no longer having corporal punishment was a problem with the school system.
It ends in the most radical way possible in my opinion. That the constitution doesn’t change, Fifteen years into our future, the socialist party wins and the solution is to buy into a new country where there’s little government.
I did appreciate that there were a few interesting points and that thought did go into the “what if’s.” In the end, I found it to be comical in its simplicity and the desire to bring back everything that breaks humanity.

Welliver is amazing. Takes a great actor to add to the life already written. Lakin adds just the right touch to make Renee perfect for Bosch.

Alaina brings us the true story of the The St Osyth Witch trials this week. It all starts with a "naughty named" woman, Ursula, potentially causing the lameness of another woman called Grace. Causing the lameness of another was grounds for being charged with the very serious felony of Witchcraft, and really it all went downhill from there. In the end fourteen were accused, two were hanged and many more died in prison. The book and pamphlet used as a source for the case: England's Witchcraft Trials by Willow Winsham A true and iust recorde, of the information, examination and ...
